City Creek Center A closer look at
A large, four-sided fire-place overlooks a waterfall and winding stream. Bas-relief art panels above the fireplace represent the four seasons.
�e two blocks are connected on the upper levels through bridge with floor-to-ceiling glass. �e etched glass panels in the roof of the bridge open automatically to provide ventilation.
Fountains splash water on the western half of the shopping development. A creek meanders through the mall on both sides of Main Street.

City Creek Center is the nation’s first shopping center with a retractable roof. �e glass panels can be opened to de-crease demand on the air conditioning system during warm weather.

�e 23-acre City Creek Center comprises 1.2 million square feet of o�ce space and about 800 residential units. �ere is approximately 700,000 square feet of space dedicated to retail use. A re-creation of the historic City Creek runs through the center of the space and several special features were designed to create a community feel in downtown Salt Lake City.
