A cold winter day As I see the seasons go I think of trees as they flow With the wind, as they will Their arms just swing, to and fro This tree is breathing with a gill His arms look bare, from the wind they mill The damage is already done And his feet no longer spill His little battle was not won He’s standing there in the sun As he’s walking towards the dock He has no power, just to run The boom of the clock, Signals his last walk, And as he is as thin as chalk On deaths door, it’s time to knock Shawn Rayno December 17, 2012

A cold winter dayAs I see the seasons go

I think of trees as they flow

With the wind, as they will

Their arms just swing, to and fro

This tree is breathing with a gill

His arms look bare, from the wind they mill

The damage is already done

And his feet no longer spill

His little battle was not won

He’s standing there in the sun

As he’s walking towards the dock

He has no power, just to run

The boom of the clock,

Signals his last walk,

And as he is as thin as chalk

On deaths door, it’s time to knock
