The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Confessions are heard each week on Saturday at the Church (SR #46) from 3:45pm to 4:45pm. The Sacrament of Baptism: Call the parish office to learn the necessary requirements and make an appointment to have your child baptized. The Sacrament of Marriage: Getting married? Congratulations! The process of being married in the Catholic Church could take between 6 months to a year to complete. Please contact Ann Cammarata at the parish office as soon as possible after your engagement if you would like to be married at All Souls Catholic Church. Anointing of the Sick: Please call the parish office. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. Did you know that the Sacrament may be repeated if the person becomes sick again? A person should be anointed before surgery when a dangerous illness is the reason for the intervention. Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick and Homebound: If you are unable to attend Mass, please call the parish office so we may assist you in having a visit from one of our ministers or one of our priests. Catholic Funeral and Burial: Please call the parish office or have the funeral home director contact us to arrange the Funeral Mass and for more information about burial at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.

“’ "Even now, says the Lord, return to me with your whole heart."” Joel 2:12

We hear this passage, taken from the Old Testament from Prophet Joel at our Mass this coming Ash Wednesday just as we begin the Forty Day’s journey of Lent. This is a call to turn to God in the midst of Challenges and Opportunities of parish life. May this season of Lent hurry us to come to the temple of the Lord and beg to save us from all harm, and thank Him for the blessings of everyday life, Amen!

Last weekend we published the 1st part of the Parish observation report conducted by the Catholic Leadership Institute on the Areas of Strength of our parish. Today we share the Areas of Opportunity.

Location: Sanford is a growing suburb of Orlando. Its population is demographically diverse and expected to grow over the next ten years. Tailoring future offerings to attract selected demographics (e.g., single young adults, young families, etc.) should be considered.

Discipleship: With year-over-year mass attendance on the decline, there is an opportunity to reevaluate and/or develop ministries around faith formation and discipleship. Helping people grow as disciples and equipping those that already have a personal relationship with Jesus to connect with potential parishioners (including fallen away Catholics) should be consider as part of the parish priority plan.

Land Development:– Surrounding the new church are 60 acres of cleared, undeveloped land owned by the parish and the diocese. The stated plan is to use part of the land for a new school although nothing has been finalized and there are some other needs such as a social gathering spot to consider.

Hispanic/Latino Community: 35 percent of the survey respondents were from this ethnic group. Several people interviewed suggested this group needs more attention, information, and direction. For example, this audience in only marginally involved in prayer groups or faith sharing groups. Finding ways to honor the diversity without creating two separate parish communities (Hispanic/Latino & Caucasian) within All Souls is the challenge.

Pre-Visit Research: Leading up to the site visit, All Souls’ website was reviewed and conversation with Fr. David took place. The parish website contains a wealth of information, is up-to-date, easy to navigate, and available in multiple languages. It also links to the school’'s website and has a search capability. In initial conversations with Fr. David, it was clear that he was well prepared and is excited to have this opportunity for the parish. Jim L of CLI/NGP

Have a blessed week! Father David

Jr. D.A.W.G.

"None of us is alone in this world. Each of us is a vital piece of the great mosaic." -St. John Paul II

I was traveling recently and watched as a wife led her blind husband onto the plane by her arm. She lovingly helped him into his seat and made sure he was comfortable. She placed their bags above in the bin and then sat next to him. They were ready for the flight. As I sat in my seat just a few rows away, I wondered what he would do if she ever left his side. Sometimes those we love in our life can be blind, and we need to be their eyes. They aren't physically blind, but they are unable to see the truth about their life, situation, or needs. We need to lend them our sight and insight, or they will remain in their world of darkness. Jesus asked his disciples, "Can a blind person guide a blind person?" If we aren't actively working to be sure that we can see clearly, what will we be able to offer someone we care about when they come to us with their blindness? Can you lead someone to Christ if you aren't living a life with him yourself? Can you share with another truth if you aren't concerned with knowing the truth yourself? Life is not always easy. Without faith, hope, and love, the road can be too hard to travel. We are not created to be alone. Instead, we are created to be traveling companions. However, the blind cannot lead the blind. May the Light of Christ dispel your darkness and give you sight so that when the call comes, you might lend an arm to lead the blind.
