Football A Team Report On the 2
nd of August the football a team went to Koonung Reserve to play 3 games of football.
For our first game we played against Templestowe, but they pulled out the day before so that meant that we won through
forfeit. Our second game we played against Auburn South and we lost. That meant our 8 game undefeated streak was
over. But we kept going with our heads held high. Our 3rd
and final game we played against Emerald. Once again we lost
but the boys fought well and we gave it our all. In the end we had a great day! We would like to thank Mr Martin for
coaching us, Mr J for organising the day and all the parents for coming and supporting us. Thank you.
Liam Dickinson and Declan Mitchell
BOOK WEEK Amanda Ball – Book Week Coordinator Our Book Week Celebration Day is coming up on Friday 26
th August. Students are encouraged to dress up as a book
character, as their favourite author or to match the year’s theme – ‘Australia! Story Country’. Our parade will be in the
BER at 9.30am and parents, friends and family are most welcome to attend. Prizes for winning posters include a special
lunch with Mrs Macauley and winning posters will be displayed around the school to promote Book Week.
ASIAN PACIFIC CHILDRENS CONVENTION – LEXI JEEVES (5M) On the 9
th July, I left Melbourne Airport to go to Fukuoka, Japan for 2 weeks. It was for the 28
th Asian Pacific Childrens
Convention where I stayed at a camp for 5-6 days with children from 54 other nations. The camp had a range of fun
activities such as a play hall. It’s purpose was for us to learn about other cultures. I also stayed in a house/apartment with
my host mum - Emi, host dad – Masakazu and host sister – Rena for 7 days. They were a very lovely family and we had
lots of fun together such as swimming in the pool, going to school and playing Japanese style dodgeball. When it was
time to say goodbye it was very sad. I missed home a little bit but would recommend it to others who are willing to put
themselves out there. It was so much fun and I am glad I was given this opportunity. Thank you,
By Lexi Jeeves 5M
