THE DEMONSTRATOR MANUFACTURING
The demonstrator has proven both the manufacturability of the parts (small parts with
details and complex shapes) and its capability be assembled and to provide a firm grip to
the vertebrae, avoiding sliding.

PROTOTYPE REQUIREMENTS FULFILLMENT
The prototype (full process) has proved:
• The possibility of obtaining a 3D model from
patient scanner with a resolution enough to
build a detail FEM of the spine.
• The feasibility of building a FEM
representative enough of the spine behaviour
has to be proved
• The feasibility of reducing the number of
implants with the same correction results
• The possibility of replacing the current
implants with a new prosthetics that improve
performance and assembly process

FUTURE RECOMMENDATIONS
Some development has still to be implemented in order
to pass from prototype to service provision:
• To spread the analysis to different use cases.
• To design different attachments for different areas of
the spine
• To parametrize the FEM and optimization phases
• To build a titanium prototype
• To set a run of functional tests in patients with
optimized implants
