    Point of Vie:

/he stor$ is ritten in third 'erson fro! an o!niscient 'ers'ective. oever, eachcha'ter is li!ited in 'ers'ective to the characters that a''ear in that cha'ter, !eaningthe reader knos onl$ hat those characters kno at that ti!e. ?or e6a!'le, "on7aa''ears in several of the cha'ters thro#gho#t the ook and she is driven $ he desire tokno hat ha''ened to her sister, 8atasha. /he reader sees so!e of 8atasha4s earl$actions #t doesn4t see her inner tho#ghts #ntil late in the ook hen a cha'ter is'resented fro! her 'ers'ective. /he o!niscient 'ers'ective !eans the reader knos the inner tho#ghts of the vario#scharacters. An i!'ortant e6a!'le of this is seen in ;hassan and Ra!:an. It4s onl$ later, hen the reader sees Ra!:an4s inner tho#ghts, that heeco!es a !ore s$!'athetic character. Ra!:an as r#tall$ tort#red the first ti!e he

as arrested, and that !akes it easier to #nderstand that he did hatever it takes to getaa$ fro! his ca'tors after his second arrest.
