Hello, I’m Jeannette Koczela, Founder and President of the International Association for Professional Life Coaches™ (IAPLC). In this publication, you will find information on how this association can support you in increasing business for your life coaching business. When I started my Empowered Spirit Coaching business, I discovered early-on the challenges that life coaches face when running a life coaching business. I saw the difficulties in getting new clients on a regular basis, making financial decisions when you’re not sure what your income will be (or on no income), acquiring entrepreneurial skills on the fly, and balancing your personal life with a business run from home. With your free membership you receive the prestige of belonging to a professional organization that gives you visibility through our online directory and credibility through displaying the IAPLC badge on your website. I’d like to give you a little background as to how I actually started the association and how you can gain even more benefits from becoming a Gold Member of the IAPLC. There are several extra benefits that come with Gold Membership.

Overview While there are many organizations for specific coaching training and certification, there are none for life coaches with various certifications. The IAPLC gives life coaches visibility as a professional no matter what coaching program they trained in or coaching method they use. It is dedicated to providing a credible Internet presence exclusively to the life coaching industry with membership standards based on coaching training, experience, and client references. Features of Bronze membership (free) include:

• A badge that coaches can display on their website denoting that they belong to a professional organization

• A directory for people seeking life coaches to find all the information they need to aid them in selecting a coach without the need to register or give out their email

• A blog that all members can contribute posts to • Monthly masterclasses and newsletter

Features of the Gold Membership (paid) include all of the above PLUS:

• A full listing page for each coach • Listing in 3 different categories of coaching • A venue for coaches to post their articles and receive back-links to their websites • A forum for coaches to interact and offer each other support • Opportunities to participate in telesummits • Opportunities to participate in published group books • Opportunities to teach masterclasses • Access to all masterclass recordings

Benefits of this association include:

• Membership in a prestigious professional organization • More credibility • More exposure and visibility in the marketplace • More potential clients contacting you about your services

1- More Online Visibility

As a fellow life coach, I saw the need for us to work together to get more visibility and better quality traffic online. Also, we needed a place to gain more skills to run our business and establish our credibility. As I searched the web for a venue that offered such things, I was disappointed in what I found. One thing that most life coaches need is online visibility. When I started my coaching business, I wanted to find an online directory I could be listed in so I could get more exposure and attract more clients. What I found was disappointing. The first site I found was too complicated. The coaches had to purchase credits in order for their listing to be shown to clients and the clients had to leave all their information before anyone could contact them. I joined the free version but when I got a notice that a client wanted to contact me, I was told I had to upgrade to a paid version to see the message! What was the value of the free version? The whole thing was way too complex for me, and maybe for the average life coach too. On another directory site, you could only find a coach if you knew their name already. That wasn’t very helpful. A third one was only for graduates of the directory’s own coaching program, and a fourth one was, frankly, just not attractive enough to keep visitors on the site for very long. I even surveyed the members of my life coaching LinkedIn group and asked them what directories they listed in. They really didn’t have any new suggestions and weren’t very happy with the results they were getting from the existing directories. So, being the action-taker and organizer that I am, I decided to create my own online directory. (Luckily, one of my past careers was web design.) My intention was that the directory be attractive, simple to use, and easy to find the coaches, who each get a full-page and are listed in several different categories. Because life coaching can be approached in so many different ways, this directory lists coaches in

Page 5: A division of Global Management, Inc. · By participating in our telesummits and publications you also have the opportunity to build your list. In a telesummit all the speakers pool

over 20 different categories. With the Gold membership, you get a full page listing in 3 to 5 categories. This will give you a lot more exposure and visibility on our site. And the directory was just one way to give life coaches more visibility. Here’s what one member says… “The International Association of Professional Life Coaches is a wonderful, supportive group. Not only do you get visibility that you wouldn't get otherwise, you get training, support, and brainstorming with your peers. The directory is a great way to let clients find you, get referrals from fellow members, and take your business to the next level. The membership value far exceeds the investment.” ~ Lynn Jordan, www.authorstoolsblog.com 2- More Credibility

Another thing that life coaches need is credibility. When I became a coach I looked into joining the International Coaches Federation and discovered that I couldn’t join because they hadn’t endorsed the coaches training program I had taken. It occurred to me that there were probably many other good programs that they hadn’t endorsed as well. Futhermore, the many really experienced and successful coaches who didn’t go through any coaching program but were just using their God-given talents, and years of experience, also couldn’t join the ICF. So I decided to combine my directory with a professional association that had certain standards so it could include all of those talented coaches who needed and deserved more credibility. It’s called the International Association for Professional Life Coaches™ (IAPLC).

All Gold members have to show that they are professional, that they have either life coaching credentials, related training, or extensive experience, and are recommended by their clients and peers. All members can display the IAPLC badge on their website to show that they belong to a professional organization. And that’s a powerful way to show your credibility. But I wanted to take it a step further. If you are a Gold Member, you get to participate in our telesummits and publications, which will give you a lot more visibility as well as credibility. Telesummits Gold members receive more online visibility AND credibility by participating in telesummits and publications. A telesummit is when you have a group of speakers speaking on a theme for a certain period of time. Usually it’s one or two speakers a day for one to three weeks. We gave our first telesummit in early 2011 and it was a great success with 27 speakers. For some of the members, this was their first opportunity to speak to an audience. For others, it was a golden opportunity to spread their message even further. Needless to say, it was a popular benefit and has become a regular feature of the association. All Gold members get a turn to be a speaker in an IAPLC telesummit. Our telesummits are generally one speaker a day for two weeks. Published Books Becoming an author is another great way to establish more visibility and credibility. Statistics show that a life coach is more likely to be hired if they are a published author than not. In other words, if someone was interested in two different coaches and they saw that one of them was a published author, they would probably be more inclined to choose the latter because they have more credibility. But do you have TIME to write an entire book? Most life coaches don’t. It took me 6 months to write my book and I was just using the text from my home study course, which took me a year to write---so that was a year and a half of my time. Writing a chapter in a compilation book is a lot easier and I looked into that too. But most of the venues I found wanted between $500 and $3,000 to be in their book. That’s a little expensive for someone just starting out in business. After publishing my first book, I realized that I could make it not only very easy, but extremely affordable for IAPLC members to become published authors in a compilation book. So now we offer that for our Gold members, as another way to establish your credibility and expertise---and for less than $100 per member! This has become an annual publication.

By participating in our telesummits and publications you also have the opportunity to build your list. In a telesummit all the speakers pool their lists with all the other speakers so you are all promoting the telesummit. You not only widen your reach but you also build your list, thus sending more traffic to your site. The same thing happens with being published in a compilation book. All co-authors pool their lists for the book launch and the launch sends more traffic to your site from the other authors’ lists. As you can see, Gold membership in our association gives you several ways to increase your visibility as well as credibility. And more credibility means more clients; more clients means more revenue for you. That’s how this association can boost your life coaching business. Here’s what members are saying… "I have been so impressed with many aspects of IAPLC since I joined a year ago! First, it the organization founder, Jeannette, has made being a member of this organization a pleasure. But beyond that, the IAPLC offers so many opportunities to its members to grow and expand, including a compilation book, active and helpful forums, masterminds and trainings (plus much more!) I recommend the IAPLC to coaches who want to belong to an organization that really focuses on meeting its members needs and helping members grow their businesses. Thank you Jeannette and colleagues!" ~ Deb Gilroy, www.writingyourwaytosuccess.com

“My Membership with the International Association of Professional Life Coaches has been one of the best connections I have made in my career as a Life Coach to date! The opportunity to collaborate on the compilation book on Transformation, and my corresponding participation in the related Tele summit, has given me confidence in my business, and myself as an individual. The one-on-one support and hard work of the Association's Founder, Jeannette Koczela, is appreciated, and it is great to be connected with Fellow Members in the Facebook forum. I look forward to further participation and collaboration with the Association, and it's Members!” ~ Angle Goodeve, www.life-coaching-advice-withang.com

“I’ve been following Jeannette and the IAPLC for several months. I’ve participated in several of the Masterclasses her association has offered and I have viewed most of the videos, blog posts and other articles she has produced. I recently became a Gold Member based on Jeannette’s dedication to her members and clients. Getting to know her better through private conversation and following her body of work has enabled me to gain an appreciation of her professional knowledge and skills. I am proud to be associated with Jeannette and the IAPLC, and I think all types of professional life coaches can benefit through her association as well as her private coaching practice.” ~ Randy Tudor, www.TudorCoaching.com

3- More Business Support

I was lucky. When I started my coaching business, I had already been an entrepreneur most of my life. So I knew something about running a small business. But many coaches in my coaching classes had come directly from jobs or from the home, where they had acquired skills that served them in their coaching, but not in running a business. You may be a great coach but feel overwhelmed by all the things you need to know about running a business. When you have coaching clients, don’t you naturally spend time thinking of what more you can do for them? It’s fun for me to think of more things I can do to help the members of the IAPLC because they are my clients. After I put into place all the ideas I had for getting them more visibility, more credibility, more traffic, and more connection, I started to brainstorm, “What I could do to help them learn how to run their life coaching businesses more smoothly?” My inspired idea was to have a Masterclass series on different aspects of business that would help the members run their businesses more smoothly. Members gave suggestions as to what topics they needed help with and what topics they could help teach a class on and we launched the series. All the classes were recorded and archived so members could listen to them at their convenience. With the free membership, you can only attend the masterclasses live. With your Gold membership, you have access to all the archived Masterclass recordings. Some of the topics covered in the Masterclasses include:

• Using Schedulers and how to use 3 specific ones • Using Autoresponders and how to use 3 specific ones • How to Put Your Book on Kindle • Accounting and Bookkeeping 101 for Life Coaches • Making videos for your website • Copywriting skills for life coaches • Creating an Operations Manual

• Why You Should Guest Blog • Communication Skills • Getting More Clients • …just to name a few…and all classes are archived for current & future Gold

members! (You can see the entire list of archived masterclassess here: http://iaplifecoaches.org/masterclass-schedule )

Gold Members are invited to teach Masterclasses. This gives you another opportunity to display your expertise and pick up more clients. Teaching a Masterclass allows you to share your expertise with other IAPLC members and it will unable you to display your expertise to the public---those potential clients who are looking for a coach just like you. Gold members also have access to our resource center of life coaching-related templates, business-building tools, and links to related services. This is just another way the association provides business support to its paid members. One member says… “I had been thinking about whether or not to renew my monthly networking group membership, which is $200 per year when I realized that…

...they don’t offer any speaking opportunities,

...they don’t offer any opportunities for becoming an author,

...they don’t offer any classes that teach me business skills,

...they don’t give me any business tools to help me with my business,

...they don’t offer a community to interact with and exchange ideas and resources with …and for the same amount of money, I get all of those things and more with the IAPLC.

Joining your association is a no-brainer. You offer more value than anything else out there. However, one of the biggest benefits I receive, especially since my coaching business is a little off the beaten path, is understanding and support.” ~ Susan Hakiman, www.thelifeweaver.com Another member says… “After speaking with Jeannette and learning more about her commitment not only to her own coaching clients and practice, but also to helping others via founding an international association of professional life coaches, I was deeply impressed. As a fellow Coach, I have decided to join the Association; Jeannette has provided us with a wonderful educational and professional development venue/service as well as a tremendous networking opportunity. I am deeply grateful to her for her vision and leadership.” ~ Anthony Nicotera, Executive and Spiritual Coach, www.NicoteraConsulting.com

4- More Connection

Being an entrepreneur gives you a wonderful sense of freedom. You are your own boss, you decide what hours you want to work, you can schedule a vacation when you want, and you get to work from home. But with this freedom comes some major challenges including, dealing with home-related distractions, learning how to run a business by your self, and working alone day in and day out with no one to talk to or get advice from. I found that I needed to find a community of like-minded individuals for mutual support. Several groups met those needs but as I outgrew them I knew that I needed to find a way to give my support in a bigger way. The association was the way for me to do that as well as build a community. The members of the IAPLC are life coaches who are committed to changing the planet by helping those they are called to serve in their own unique way. The association provides several venues for members to interact, exchange ideas, brainstorm, share resources, challenges, and celebrations. They enjoy giving and receiving in a friendly, supportive environment. These venues include a private forum, personal contact, and joint venture partnerships. We have a private closed Facebook forum for Gold members, that they use for posting events, celebrations, ideas, questions, getting feedback, and sharing. You can ask fellow members for help in spreading the word about your events, new products, and program launches, or find joint venture partners here. This is also a venue for brainstorming and getting feedback on ideas, and sharing resources with products and services that others have used and found to be helpful. As an IAPLC member you also receive personal contact from the founder and her staff to make sure you are receiving all the benefits of your Gold membership and seeking your advice on what else the association can provide to help your business thrive. Members of the IAPLC enjoy belonging to an organization where they feel like they are being heard and taken care of with that personal touch. This way the members feel more connected and less like they are working all alone. When you have a supportive group to interact with, who help you work through challenges that come up, and join you in celebrating your successes, you feel more

confident and strong. That confidence and inner strength is what attracts clients more than anything else. And, as a Gold member, you’ll be part of an active, vibrant community that is here to support you. “This has been one of the best organizations that I have joined. I really love working with you and others within this group.” ~ Denise Hansard, www.denisehansard.com “I’ve found the IAPLC to be an amazing place with so much to offer it’s members. It’s been such a joy participating in IAPLC’s first compilation book and I love the opportunities to mastermind with other like-minded souls. Collectively, we are a powerful force and making big things happen in the world. That powerful force is due to being an active member of this amazing organization. More than that, I highly respect and appreciate the organization’s founder and leader, Jeannette Koczela, who brings so much support and so many opportunities to the members. If you’re serious about growing your business and masterminding to powerful success with like-minded brilliant spirits, this organization is the perfect place and something I highly recommend joining.” ~ Nachhi Randhawa, Business Goddess & Spiritual Money Mentor, www.YourDivineWealth.com 5- More Resources

All members receive a monthly newsletter full of helpful tips, articles, and updates on topics relevant to the life coaching industry. Gold members are spotlighted in the newsletter. You’ll also be offered special hands-on workshops, and other educational offers that are designed to enhance your coaching business. Gold members will be offered discounts on these items---another benefit they enjoy as a paid member. Another way the IAPLC provides more business to its members is through backlinks. Members can contribute blog posts to our blog, and post links to their articles and blog

posts on the IAPLC site, which will create backlinks to their sites. Gold members can also post links to their events, workshops, teleclasses, and webinars in the private Facebook forum. Having a backlink to a large site with high page ranking like the IAPLC, increases the page ranking of the life coach’s site’s page ranking. Driving more traffic to our site will ultimately drive more traffic to your own site. And more traffic means more clients. Plus as a special bonus for joining, Gold members receive a free 8-week ecourse, “Social Networking for Coaches Guide,” which gives an overview for using social media in your life coaching business. In this guide you will…
