A festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

ADVERTISING AT ST. JOHN CANTIUS PARISH FOR

On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 7:00pm, St. John Cantius Church will be hosting our 16th annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. This traditional Christmas program features three of our resident choirs and our world-renowned Casavant pipe organ.

Located in the heart of the River West neighborhood, near the corners of Chicago, Milwaukee, and Ogden Avenues, St. John Cantius Church has become known over the years as the home of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius and our Charism of Restoration of the Sacred. The Canons Regular strive to “preserve and foster the devotional, musical, catechetical, and artistic traditions of the Catholic Church.” Several non-for-profit groups have been founded to assist the Canons with this mission, including the Patrons of Sacred Music.

The Patrons of Sacred Music host various events at the Parish, which attract people from all over the United States, and beyond; this summer they co-hosted a concert with The Consul General of France in Chicago, Together with Notre-Dame, raising money for the rebuilding and restoration of the great Cathedral. The Patrons support the eight resident choirs of the Parish, which provide sacred music for the Liturgies, whether for a normal Sunday or for big events such as the annual Mozart Requiem; and they also help to support the annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

This year, the Patrons of Sacred Music are requesting your assistance. Would you consider placing an advertisement in the program booklet? Advertising in the Festival Program will reach not only hundreds of families in the local neighborhoods, but families throughout the city and suburbs as well.
