WHAT CAN SCHOOLS DO?

Schools need to concentrate their efforts to identify students who are at a high risk of dropping out or who have dropped out and re-engage them into an educational school/program that best meets their needs.

Identify students through:

MiSiS No Show Report (determine enrollment status and location, change the leave code & leave reason)

Potential Dropout List & Completer List

CASE TRANSFERS

Purpose: To discuss outgoing/incoming students who will be transferring,

support with transition and identify resources for students

Consult with colleagues on transition support (i.e. Academic Counselors, School Based PSA

Counselor, YouthSource PSA Counselor, Admin)

Feeder middle schools and high schools will be meeting to discuss cohort 8th grade students who will

be matriculating into the high school

High School A-G Counselors will be meeting with YouthSource PSA Counselors to discuss referrals

for Non Grad Students

MIDDLE TO HIGH SCHOOL

Middle School A-G Counselors will discuss 8th grade cohort students individually

with the High School A-G Counselors to consult and transfer the files

High School A-G Counselors will complete the Case Transfer Form using the

information provided by the Middle School A-G Counselor
