• JA-YE Europe Core Programme• Programme is an extension of JA Company
Programme• Based on GLOBE it focuses on European joint
venture and trading enterprise • The idea is that a student company in one
European location would partner with a student company in another location by establishing a joint-venture or any other type of relationship:
– a company could ask several others to supply them with products or components of products which would then be packaged and sold;
– or they could provide one-way or two-way services of some kind;
– or they could co-create and co-produce a product and sell it in each others’ markets
– the options are endless …

Target group: secondary and college school students who completed JA Company Programme. (Possible to implement as an extended project within the Company Programme)
Target age: 16 – 19Hours of instruction: 16 – 18 weeks (longer)

• Develop an understanding of the economic principles of European trade.
• Demonstrate how the economic principles of European and international trade apply to the actual business.
• Provide rich, active learning experiences for students as they conduct business.
• Develop communications, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Foster sensitivity to other cultures, as well as cross-cultural understanding.
GOALSGOALS
• Consultants serve as advisors in a real international business conditions
• Web–based catalogue and use of Internet tools to explore trade opportunities
• Cultural understanding through cross-cultural communication and business practice (student exchange)
• Communications are generally weekly (internet, fax, e-mail, video-conferences)
• Students have to develop strategies for their companies in several countries simultaneously

• Should be a company with facilities in more than one country
• Provide a volunteer – business consultant is an employee of the company – should have European or international experience
• Work with the school and the JA Office to gain media coverage of EWB

• Consider their strategic objectives – i.e. in which countries do they want to demonstrate a strong community commitment etc..

• The teacher DOES NOT RUN the student company. The programme is operated by students under supervision of the teacher and consultant.

• Considers getting other classes in the school involved in the programme (translations, making of movies etc.)
