HOSPITALITY SHED, BBQ & BAR

The Hamilton Show Committee cooks a great BBQ with

Premium steak, hamburgers and sausages.

Please support the Hamilton Show Committee BBQ & Bar, both are run by

local volunteers and all proceeds go to the Hamilton District Agricultural

Show Society and related charities and organisations.

The bar is open to everyone over the age of 18 years.

The Show Society adheres to the Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy.

MORNING & AFTERNOON TEAS Sit high in the grand stand and take in all that the show has to offer! Enjoy a refreshing cup of tea or coffee, with cordial for the children. Experience some of our Volunteer Country Ladies’ best cakes, biscuits and sandwiches! You’ll find a variety of delicious, reasonably priced products to choose from. Why not gather a table of friends and share a high tea stand laden with a variety of freshly made sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and slices. Hosted by the local Red Cross Gretna Branch, with proceeds from this stall go to Blazeaid to assist with the clean-up of fire affected areas of VIC and NSW.

The Hamilton Show is conducted under the rules and regulations of the Tasmanian Agricultural

Shows Society. It is a condition of entry that all directions by gate and parking staff be adhered

to. Exhibitor and competitor vehicles must be removed from the ground space area by 9am on

show day unless they display a special car pass provided by the Show Society. Your co-operation

in this matter not only assists the Show Committee to adhere to requirements for movement of

emergency vehicles and safety with stock trucks, but also helps to create a more pleasant

environment for patrons. Admission charges apply on entry to the show ground unless

membership of the Show Society has been taken out, or a relevant entry ticket has been

provided by the Hamilton District Agricultural Show Society Inc. Refunds may be given if

membership or other details are available. Please obtain a disputed gate pass on entry to present

to the Secretary’s Box for details to be verified and refund given. All other club members

competing in club competitions at the Show are to purchase gate passes on show day issued by

the Hamilton District Agricultural Show on entry to the grounds. Entry fee must accompany all

entries. Unless otherwise stated. Owners of stock and vehicles must ensure that their exhibits are

all ready to take part in the Grand Parade. Failure to comply may render exhibitors liable to

forfeit any prize monies won.

SMOKING: In 2013 the Director of Public Health announced that all Agricultural Shows in

Tasmania would be smoke free. As a result there is one designated smoking area on the south-

western end of the grounds. No smoking is permitted outside of the designated area.

ALCOHOL MUST NOT BE BROUGHT ONTO THE SHOWGROUNDS. THE SOCIETY TAKES NO

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ALCOHOL CONSUMED ON THE SHOWGROUNDS.

Members of The Dairy Goat Society of Australia Tasmanian Branch, will be attending the 2020 Hamilton Show. They’ll have some animals and information on display for you and are ready to answer any questions. You’ll find them under the grandstand along with the mini goats.

An expert Bee Keeper will give a talk every hour and answer all

EDDIE FREEMAN’S UNIQUE CHAINSAW SCULPTURES Stop by and marvel as Eddie Freeman creates a unique chainsaw sculpture right before your eyes. Later in the day you could be the proud owner of one of Eddie’s creations as it is auctioned off at the bar in the Hospitality Shed.

BRIDGET PROSS - TASMANIAN SINGER/SONGWRITER The very talented Bridget Pross will be joining us to play sets from 11:30am - 4:30pm. You’ll find her in the Hospitality Shed.

Writing original music and publicly performing since the age of 15, Bridget has supported a number of high profile local and international acts, including Joe Cocker, Lior, Josh Pyke, John Butler Trio, Renee Geyer, Tex Perkins, Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, Indigo Girls, Ian Moss, Leo Kottke and many more.

She has also performed at Falls Festival, Byron Bay’s Bluesfest, Tasmania’s Southern Roots Festival and has also performed one of her original songs on the hit TV series ‘Neighbours’.

She is soon to launch her latest album ‘Black Is the Colour’.

Derwent Valley Field and Game Club will run clay

target shooting. This will be held down toward the

river at the back of the showgrounds.

To participate you will need to register.

No gun licence necessary. Must be over 18 with Photo ID. Come and have a go!

TAS REPTILIA

Whether you find them fascinating or consider them

creepy and unsettling, come along and satisfy your curiosi-

ty! Justin Kneebone – reptile expert from Tas Reptilia, will

give live demonstrations every hour and answer all of your

questions about snakes and lizards! 10:30am - 2:30pm

KIDS NOVELTY RACES

JUNIOR SPEED SHEEP SHAVE

Loads of fun to be had. This is an event for kids, l imited number of places

available, kids will need to be registered at the secretary ’s box before 11:30am on

show day. Event starts at 12:20pm. Place ribbons given 1 -3.

Races start at 11:30 am. This event is held in front of the grandstand. Lots of fun races to take part in, including the sack race, three legged race, egg and

Cavies will be judged in accordance with the standards and general Show Regulations as provided by the ANCC. One Cavy per handler. Best of Breed will be awarded at the Judge’s discretion. All cavies exhibited at this Show must be pure bred pedigree cavies. They must be entire. (not de-sexed). Any cavy found not to be entire will be disqualified. Sick or lice infested cavies will be removed from the Pavilion. Stock purchased from a cavy judge cannot be exhibited under that judge at a show until the expiration of three months from the date of purchase. No speaking at the Judging Table, either to your neighbour, or the Judge, unless the Judge speaks to you. No one to go behind the judging table while judging is in progress. All cavies must be shown on appropriate carpet squares or show boards. A judge may order any person or cavy from the competition for bad conduct of one or both. The Judge’s decision is final. Entries will only be accepted from financial members of clubs affiliated with the ANCC (Australian National Cavy Council).No substitute cavies will be permitted. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Riders must be Campdrafting Tasmania Inc. & ACA Members. SADDLERY & DRESS: All Riders must compete as per NCCA ‘ GENERAL RULES’ 11.1 - 11.6. Competitors must abide by all ACA & Campdrafting Tas Inc. Club Rules, Safety Requirements and Codes of Conduct. Queries regarding runs should be addressed to a Riders Rep as soon as possible after your run. Any injuries to Riders or Volunteers should be reported to the First Aid Officer and recorded in the Incident Book. HELMETS RULE: You must compete in a helmet, but an Akubra or shade hat (not cap) may be worn during warmups etc. Putting cattle off the arena will require the use of a helmet. Helmets must comply with current safety standards and be securely fastened under the chin at all times.
