As consumers become more concerned about their health, they are likely to purchase additional treatments outside conventional medicine. Health consciousness is expected to increase in 2016-17.

Ageing populationAustralia’s ageing population has helped drive revenue growth, as the higher frequency of illness for people over 50 years of age has led many to use alternative health therapy. This is particularly the case with palliative care, as patients are often treated in tandem with conventional medical practitioners.

Private health insuranceBooming private health insurance membership numbers have also driven growth, as many policies have been offering alternative treatments as part of extras or ancillary cover, reducing the cost of visiting alternative therapists.

Furthermore, increasing discretionary income has enabled more consumers to pay the out-of-pocket costs associated with treatments that are not covered by private health insurance.

YES of course Massage Me Now is disruptive to the industry, you’ll have massage services at your fingertips, it changes the way businesses market themselves, it increases transparency and quality of service within the industry and it allows therapists the freedom to work without location dependence. 

But we don’t consider ourselves ‘disruptive’.... Our model is ‘eruptive’.

With the company founder being from within the industry our vision is holistic, engaging the current businesses, individual therapists and massage lovers - and together we’ll grow the entire industry. There’s a real movement taking place, a spiritual shift and the technology capabilities we have to connect with each other NOW, are limitless.

Start up companies such as Soothe and Urban Massage are disrupting the US and UK markets empowering therapists to work as contractors for the apps. They threaten the existing business landscape significantly with incentive for staff to no longer work inside of businesses.

Our holistic approach to building our community and the entire industry is unique. We are in a position to act quickly and engage the industry and massage lovers to ensure the industry stays stable and grows collectively.
