A Homebrewed Solution to Motion Gaming
Developed and Presented By
SIDDHESH KOLWANKAR
The NEED- Motion Gaming Consoles are Expensive.
e.g. Sony Motion, WiiMote, Kinect etc.- We wanted to make a Total Homebrewed
solution to the Motion Gaming
The HARDWARE- 3 Axis I2C Accelerometer (Single Data / Clock)- InfraRed Sensor- Microcontroller ATmega8 / 16- Power Cables- Serial RS232 Cable for PC Interface- Burg Wires (Data Cables)- PCB Embedded Boards
The SOFTWARE and PROGRAMS- Embedded C / C++ For Hardware Programming- .NET Framework for Interfacing on PC
- Internal Addressing Scheme (For Inter-Microcontroller Communication)
- Data Multiplexing Scheme(For PC End Point Communication)
The FEATURES- Completely Homebrewed- Cheap and Effective Substitute for Commercial
Motion Controllers.- Dynamic Gameplay Experience- Total Configurable Controls- Simplistic and Intuitive GUI
The LOW ENDS- Only one Glove could be made
due to Addressing Restrictions on I2C.- Low on Precision, due to Low Clock Speeds- Uses Slower Asynchronous Data Transfer to PC- Functions poorly with Erratic movements,
Shakes and Fast, Vibrant Displacements
The FUTURE- Native Support for DirectX DirectInput- Additional (RH) Glove Over SPI Protocol
that can potentially control MOUSE- Wireless Link over to PC (Bluetooth Interface)- Additional Voice Commands Module to back up
the Primary Functions over Motion Sensing
The ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS- Technophilia
(Official Hardware Support)- Lost Neuron
(Interfacing and Software Support)
