MARK 13:1-8 (NIV)

“As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!’ ‘Do you see all these great buildings?’ replied Jesus. ‘Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’ As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, ‘Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?’ Jesus said to them: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, “I am he,” and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”

Behnke BRINGING IN THE LIGHT WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS STEWARDSHIP MOMENT Al Peterson CALL TO WORSHIP L: Welcome, dear friends, as today we gather together to worship God in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. P: As we come together, we ask the Lord to bless this congregation with the presence of the Holy Spirit and to fill our hearts with God’s love. L: Though we gather in a beautiful, historic sanctuary, let us not forget that it is the presence of God within the hearts of the people that makes this place holy. P: It is when we are gathered together, like stones of a great structure, we become the Temple of God, founded on the cornerstone of Christ.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Sawyer Kellan Jones

HYMN “We Gather Together” No. 790

(Verses 1 & 2)

PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison) Gracious Lord and Creator of all, thank you for your presence with us today as we gather to worship you. As we sense you in and around us, it is a reminder that it is you in us that makes this a place of worship. Further, it is You, in us, when we leave this place, that empowers us to serve.

Announcements for November 18, 2018

The theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is based on “Did you know?” Our planning revealed that many of us do not realize all of the activities and services provided by the church that your money is being used for. Also, how efficiently the money is being utilized to support these activities as administered by the Board and pastors. In the next few weeks you will be seeing “Did you know” information

identifying many of these activities to help you plan your giving in support of the 2019 budget cycle.
