Day 1: Saturday, 11 November Depart BrisbaneDepart Brisbane with Cathay Pacific for your flight to Tel Aviv via Hong Kong.

Day 2: Sunday, 12 NovemberTel AvivArrive into Tel Aviv this morning, a bustling city brimming with culture and history, situated on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline. Transfer to your hotel, tonight join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 3: Monday 13 NovemberTel AvivMorning visit to the Diaspora Museum - explore the History and culture of the Jewish people. Take a tour of the Tel Aviv city centre - the business and entertainment capital of Israel and UNESCO Heritage Site. Stop at Rabin's square, place of assassination of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin. Explore Neve Zedek and the earliest neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv. Onto the craft markets and Nahalat Benyamin and the colourful ambience of Sheinkin Street. Continue to Old Jaffa, the 8,000 year old port city; visit the ancient ruins and stroll the restored artist's quarter. Return to your hotel. (B)

Day 4: Tuesday 14 NovemberTel Aviv - Masada and the Dead SeaDepart via the Judean hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth; Roadside view of the Qumeran Caves (visit not included) where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Visit a Dead Sea cosmetic products shop. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada where you will learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palace, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, roman baths and other findings. Descend by cable car. Continue to the Dead Sea; Enjoy the unique opportunity to float in the Dead Sea and cover yourself with the mineral rich mud that many believe has therapeutic benefits. Return to your hotel. (B)

Day 5: Wednesday, 15 November Tel Aviv - Jaffa - Caesarea - Acre - Nazareth - Cana - Tiberias Journey to the ancient port city of Jaffa for a leisurely stroll through the winding alleys of the historic area. Visit the Roman Aqueduct and Theatre at Caesarea, a centre of the early Christians where Cornelius became the first

Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) by St. Peter; and where Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome for trial (Acts 23). Stop in Acre, an ancient crusader city and UNESCO World Heritage site. In Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home (Matthew 2:23), visit the Church of the Annunciation and the place where Joseph’s home and workshop were as well as the site of the fresh water spring used by the Holy Family. Your day continues with a visit to Cana, the site of Our Lord’s first miracle. Arrive in Tiberias for a 2-night stay. (B, D)

Day 6: Thursday, 16 November Sea of Galilee-Capernaum-Golan Heights-Caesarea Philippi-Tiberias Cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee aboard a replica of the boat in which Jesus would have sailed. Travel to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew 5-7). Nearby Tabgha is the traditional location for the calling of the disciples and the feeding of the five thousand. Visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves (Luke 9:10-17). In Capernaum, Jesus performed many miracles and it was the centre of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught and reflect on his teaching and preaching of the gospel of the kingdom (Matthew 4:13, 23). Visit the Chapel of the Primacy where Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ (John 21) on three occasions. Get a taste of the local flavour when you enjoy lunch at a communal settlement, known as a kibbutz, in the Golan Heights. Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus travelled with His disciples and near where Peter made his great confession to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16). Your day ends at the River Jordan at the Yardenit Baptismal site. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Friday, 17 November Tiberias - Tel Megiddo - Bethlehem - Jerusalem Visit Tel Megiddo (Armageddon), the site of the final battle before the coming of the Messiah. In Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus (Luke 2), enter the Church of the Nativity, the oldest continuously functioning church in the world. View the cave where Jesus was born. Stop at Shepherds’ Field, where the angels appeared on that first Christmas night, spreading good tidings of great joy for all the people. Later, arrive in one of the holiest cities in the world, Jerusalem. (B, D)

Day 8: Saturday, 18 November Jerusalem - Mount Zion - Ein Karem Your time in Jerusalem begins with a visit to the

Mount of Olives. Afterwards, visit the Church of the Pater Noster, built on the traditional site where Christ taught the Lord’s Prayer; its name refers to the “Our Father” prayer. Continue to the Church of All Nations, built over the rock on which Our Lord prayed the night before He was crucified. Nearby is the Tomb of the Virgin Mary and the Garden of Gethsemane, the site of Christ’s betrayal by Judas. Travel to Mount Zion and stand in the Upper Room, near the traditional site of the Last Supper (Mark 14). Then, continue to Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist and the place to which Mary travelled to share her good news with Elizabeth. (B, D)

Day 9: Sunday, 19 November Jerusalem Today you are free to explore the city on your own. Perhaps you’ll choose to take an optional excursion to the Dead Sea to discover where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found; visit Masada; and perhaps even float on the salty waters of the Dead Sea. (B, D)

Day 10: Monday, 20 November Jerusalem Your day begins at St. Stephen’s Gate where St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, was stoned to death. Continue to the Church of St. Anne, marking the place where the parents of the Blessed Mother lived. Visit the nearby Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the paralytic. Then, follow the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, walked by Our Lord on the way to His crucifixion; pass by the Ecce Homo Arch, the site where Pontius Pilate presented Our Lord to the crowds. Next, visit the Western Wall of the Temple before stopping at the Garden Tomb, the possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathea and site of the resurrection of Jesus. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers to celebrate the end of this unforgettable and holy experience. (B, D)

Day 11: Tuesday, 21 November Jerusalem - Border Crossing - Madaba, Jordan - Mt. Nebo – Petra This morning you travel to the Jordan Valley, crossing the border* into Jordan. Travel the Desert Highway to the city of Madaba, the “City of Mosaics.” Visit the church of St. George to see the famous 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map of the region, one of the oldest in existence, and the museum where many other spectacular mosaic examples are on display. Visit a local mosaic school to learn the history of this ancient art and how to create your very own mosaic piece. You will also visit Mt. Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised

Land – present day Israel – and is believed to be laid to rest. Continue to the ancient city of Petra for a 2-night stay. (B)

Day 12: Wednesday, 22 NovemberPetra Enjoy a full day tour of the remarkable stone-carved city of Petra (UNESCO), one of the new Wonders of the World. A treasure of the ancient world, Petra was “hidden” behind rugged mountains prior to its discovery in 1812 after being lost for over 300 years. Explore this breathtaking city, carved from sandstone by the Nabataeans, with an expert guide and learn about the importance of Petra to the ancient trade routes, the history of its prominence and decline, its rediscovery, and efforts at preservation. This evening, experience the flavors of the region with a delightful dinner at a popular local restaurant. (B, D) Day 13: Thursday, 23 November Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman This morning depart for the immense desert of Wadi Rum, stunning in its natural beauty and home of the famous film, Lawrence of Arabia. Experience desert life and learn about the fascinating history of the Bedouin people who have lived for generations in the Wadi Rum’s stark, fragile and unspoiled desert. Later, arrive

in Amman, known as the “White City” because of white limestone used to construct the majority of the buildings. (B, D) Day 14: Friday, 24 November Amman - Jerash - Jordan Valley Border Crossing - Tel Aviv, Israel Travel the quiet valley among the mountains of Gilead to the city of Jerash – the “Pompeii of the East.” Step back in time as you tour the ruins with a local guide. Walk through columned streets, hilltop temples, public squares and plazas. Archaeologist’s uncovered evidence inside the city walls indicating Amman was occupied as far back as the Neolithic age over 6,500 years ago. Later, travel to the Jordan Valley Border Crossing,* returning to Israel. Continue to Tel Aviv for your overnight stay. (B) Day 15: Saturday, 25 November Tel Aviv Free day in Tel Aviv.
