1.4 PREVIOUS EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES

In 1964, Chance Mining S Exploration Ltd. conducted airborne and ground geophysical surveys of which a small portion of the northwest part of the present mining claims.

Cu-Kam Porcupine Mines Limited was very active in Godfrey Township from 1964 to 1965 and 1970, conducting a variety ground geophysical surveys, and diamond drilling.

An airborne survey was conducted in 1964 by Mespi Mines Ltd.

Jonsmith Mines Limited in 1964-65 conducted a VEM survey followed by a 5 hole diamond drilling program in 1965-66 to test the VEM anomalies.

In 1969 Mount Jamie Mines Ltd. conducted ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys.

Hollinger Mines Ltd. conducted an airborne survey in 1970 followed by a variety of surveys from 1968 to 1976 on their vast holdings in the area.

To the south of the property, Moneta Porcupine Mines Inc. has conducted a variety of geophysical programs and diamond drilling in a joint venture with Falconbridge Ltd.

2.0 GEOLOGY S MINERALOGY

The general geology of the area consists of a complex of folded and faulted Archean mafic metavolcanics, metasediments with mafic and felsic intrusives. Northerly trending diabase dikes cut all lithological units in the area. The late stage of volcanicism is marked by basaltic (gabbro) dikes intrusions.

The vast majority of the western portion of the township is comprised of felsic metavolcanics (rhyolitic) while the eastern portion of the township is comprised of both mafic and felsic metavolcanics.

Four fault systems have been recognized in the area trending X 20* E which controls most of the diabase dikes, west-northwest to northwest which is pre-diabase dikes, N 60' E which displaces the diabase dikes, and parallel to the first fault trend which is represented by the Mattagami River Fault.

3.0 CURRENT EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES

3.1 INTRODUCTION

The current exploration activities consisted of a VLF - EM survey. The purpose of the surveys was to assist and locate subsurface geology and to evaluate the conductive anomalies which were located in previous geophysical surveys.

3.2 VLF ELECRTOMAGNETIC SURVEY

Moneta Porcupine Gold Mines Inc. personnel of Timmins, Ontario, conducted a VLF-EM survey on the metric grid established by Georgex Exploration Contractors of Timmins, Ontario.

The survey was conducted on October 8, 9, 11, 12, 16, and 26, November 31, 1994. The author conducted data file editing, processing and calculations, Acad and plotting on March 30 and April 17 an 18, 1995. The interpretation and report were completed from April 19 and 20, 1995.

The VLF-EM survey was conducted by P.Gryba using an EM-16. The survey was supervised by the author. A total of 10.5 km of grid was surveyed with station interval at 20 meters.

The instrument specifications for the survey are located in Appendix A.

The VLF-EM survey was completed on the main claim blocks east of the Mattagami River surveying the east-west tie lines and west of the river on north-south grid lines and east-west tie lines. The grid lines were surveyed at 20 meter

3.3 SURVEY RESULTS

The survey results are included in the map pocket as Figure 3: VLF Electromagnetic Survey on North-South grid and Figure 4: VLF Electromagnetic Survey on East-West grid.

The property is suspected to be underlain by mafic to a mixture of mafic and felsic metavolcanics intruded by diabase dikes. Narrow interflow metasediments with varying degree of graphite is suspected in several areas of the property.

The conductors which yield in the excess of 25 on the Fraser Filtering have been identified by letters. Conductors A to H are located in Figure 3 and conductors I to R are located in Figure 4.

Conductors A, B and D may be due in part to the bedrock stratigraphy and the nearby diabase dike.

Conductors C and F appear to be a structural source. Portions of these conductors appear to be better bedrock sources than other portions and may be due to the close proximity of the diabase dike.

Conductors E and G appears to be related to the overburden.

Conductor H has a partial anomaly signature and full interpretation is not possible.

Conductor I is a weak bedrock source and appears to be related to the east edge of the north-northeast trending diabase dike and the graphitic metasediments on TL 32+00 N at 65+50 E.

Conductors J, K, M, N, O, P and Q are weak to moderate bedrock sources and are suspected to be due to the north- northwest trending diabase dike and parallel to sub parallel structural features crosscutting the lithological units.

The above conductors appear to be displaced by northeast to north-northeast structure.

Conductors L and R are poor sources suspected to be due to the overburden.

Page 9: *A| K.A. Jansen A Associates Ltd. IH* ConsuKing Exploration A Mining Geologists · 2017-01-17 · K. A. Jensen A Associate* Ltd. Consulting Exploration A Mining Geologists l . O INTRODUCTION

K. A. Jsnssn A Associates Ltd.Consulting Exploration A Mining Geologists

4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Based upon the survey results and the previous survey data and limited amount of diamond drilling, it appears Conductor I is related to the northeast trending graphitic horizon. Conductors C and F are the strongest conductors on the Fraser Filtering, however, the source of the anomalies may be due in part of the diabase dike, suspected structural features parallel to the dike and cross cutting the dike and the possible sulphide and/or graphitic horizons in possible interflow tuffs.

A limited diamond drill program may be warranted in the vicinity of the graphitic horizon near Tie Line 32+00 N and the Conductors C and F.

It is recommended that the remainder of claim P-1182532 be gridded and surveyed for correlated on both sides of the Mattagami River Fault.
