2007 Molybdenum I 5600 A Large, Bowl-Shaped {Mo51V9} Polyoxometalate. — Dark-red crystals of (NH 4 ) 21 [Mo 51 V 9 (NO) 12 O 165 (OH) 3 (H 2 O) 3 (NHMe 2 ) 3 ]·xH 2 O (x ≈ 60) are hydrothermally synthesized from an aqueous solution of Na2MoO4, NH4VO3, NH2OH·HCl, NH4OAc, and HCl (autoclave, 160 °C, 24 h; low yield). The compound crystallizes in the ortho- rhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4.
