1 SEPTEMBER 2016 7 th EDITION A message from our Chairman, Steve Churcher In this edition of the Insider, we are introduced to our Ladies team captain Beth Kemp whilst director Colin Fry gives an irreverent report of our pre season tour of the North East. Director Amy Weaver and Dave Brown report on the fantastic response to the “Volunteer Days” whilst Amy explains a little more about the Alsford Tea Shack. I hope you enjoy reading the articles giving a behind the scenes look at the Angels but if there is a specific subject you would like to learn more about, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will do our best to cover it in future editions. There is no doubt that the new season has begun well for the Angels with 16 points from our opening six league games and only two league goals conceded. Our FA Cup run for 2016/17 also kicked off at Ascot United last Sunday and despite being held to a 2-2 draw, we subsequently got through via a fantastic performance and result to play Wingate & Finchley in the 2 nd Qualifying Round on the 17 th September. Regrettably, we have not been so fortunate on the injury front with striker Andre McCollin suffering a broken leg in our opening fixture and Ugo Udoji dislocating his shoulder at Burgess Hill. We wish them both a speedy recovery and we will keep you all updated with their progress in our next newsletter. At our AGM we asked our members and owners to encourage friends and colleagues to join the club as we look to increase our ownership to 500 people. I'm delighted to advise that we have already increased ownership to over 300 and that Steve McKimm and our first team squad have all recently become owners of the club. It demonstrates the togetherness that we have at the moment and long may that continue. Continued on Page 2
