QUOTE• Children who are traumatized often feel helpless, confused, and

ashamed and are afraid to trust others or their environment. Therapists who encounter these children must form a productive relationship with them to enable them not only to revisit painful experiences, but also to overcome intrusive memories, make meaning, and find hope.

--Cathy A. Malchiodi, “Creative Interventions and Childhood Trauma,” in Creative Interventions with Traumatized Children, ed. Cathy A. Malchiodi (New York London: The Guilford Press), p3-4

• In an interview titled “An unusual Children’s Day – What do the children really want?”, kids were asked questions about what they like and what they want for the Children’s Day. Animations and books were popular in their answers. However some kids didn’t answer any question, some had no wish for the Children’s day.

DESIGN QUESTIONS• I am studying technologies that can help trauma kids find hope,

because I want to find out how designers can bring positive changes to them, in order to use my skills to do something good for children who survived the Sichuan earthquake.

• What is the best medium that I can take advantage of to deliver information to the children in the other side of the earth?
