There is no team work only moving for power. There is no apparent overall direction for the resort. There is no general manager or controller on site. There is insufficient training. Some departments are terribly understaffed. There is little or no awareness of how other
departments operates. There should be some designated as resort
manager so that employees have someone to communicate with should the need to do so arise.

TEACHING NOTES Teaching objective:
Basic concepts of HRM,
Changing trends and preferences of employees,
Importance of HRM.
Teaching approach and strategy: The participants should have clear understanding of the HRM and their practices in
hospitality industry.
The case can be discussed with the graduate and post graduate classes of tourism, hospitality and services management.
The case should be given after giving assignment on HR practices, issues and challenges for manager.
Analysis: Individually 2 to 4 students for group discussion.
Presentations can also be made by small groups.
