WELCOME TO THE EDGE

Dear Edge Patrons, The key to improvement in life is to keep challenging yourself with things that scare you. Welcome to MURDER BALLAD, The Edge Theater’s first endeavor into musical theater. It’s not The Sound of Music, Brigadoon, or West Side Story....that’s not our style. This musical is simple and sexy and ask one question, “What would drive you to kill for love?” Take a look around the audience. GUARANTEED, one of you would....or maybe even ALREADY HAVE. You never know...... Four friends play a game of pool, have a drink, and decide to tell you a story of passion, desire, anger, lust, love, insecurity, self-loathing, desperation, obsession, elation, and fear of loss. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the rollercoaster ride you’re about to experience for the next 90 minutes. For the remainder of the 2016 season, The EDGE will continue to challenge ourselves with a new, edgy version of Marie Antoinette and the classic A View From the Bridge. We’ve just announced our exciting 2017 season. We hope you’ll

continue to join us for daring, original, and edgy entertainment.

KEVIN TAYLOR (Lightng Design) Kevin Taylor has been involved in the theater since he was 9, playing Lennox in a production of MacBeth. He switched to technical theater in college and rarely looks back, working primarily with lights in productions like Medea and Jerusalem at The Edge Theater, Taming of the Shrew at The Bug, and A Happy End at Buntport Theater. He is always happy to work with the talented folk at The Edge!

KRISTIN HONIOTES (Props) Kristin is extremely excited to be back working with The Edge. She has previously been seen behind the scenes in The Mother Fucker with The Hat & Casa Valentina to name a few. When not working with the Edge, Kristin runs The Wit Theatre Company and appears on and off stage with other companies around Denver. Most notable is the Wit’s current endeavor ShakesBEER. A Shakespearean show, performed at local breweries with intoxicated actors. Thank you to Rick, Katie, Patty & the Edge Family. Working with you is always such a wonderful experience.

KENNY STORMS (Sound Design) Kenny Storms is a freelance sound designer, DJ, and theatre director, working at multiple theatres and performance venues around the Denver metro area. THE BAND

JASON TYLER VAUGHN (Music Director) Jason is very excited to be a part of this production, his first at The Edge. Jason has Music Directed and played in orchestras from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. He would like thank Rick and Shannan for their faith and trust with this show. His band for their consistent awesomeness and his wife for teaching him everything he knows.

ELI ACOSTA Born and raised in Denver, Eli grew up playing ragtime guitar and started playing bass in high school when East High School’s production of Pirates of Penzance didn’t have a guitar book. He graduated with a degree in Jazz Bass and Commercial Music from Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver and has proudly studied under Ken Walker, Susan Cahill, and Chris Wood. Outside the pit, Eli can be seen playing jazz at The Brown Palace accompanying John Kite, in the house band at the Drunken Bachelor Talk Show at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret with the East Colfax Trio, or in a funk/soul cover band “Honeycomb”. Eli just finished an apprenticeship repairing, restoring, and building stringed instruments; when he isn’t playing a bass, he is most likely fixing one.

DUSTIN ARNDT Dustin is a professional percussionist from the Denver – Metro area. He received a bachelors degree in percussion performance from the Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2006. For over 18 years, he has worked steadily as a freelance percussionist specializing in musical theater. Dustin has performed around the world, most notably in the US, Canada, and Singapore. Also a highly regarded educator, Dustin is the Director of Percussion Studies at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado. He teaches concert, marching, and world percussion as well as composing and arranging music for his students. When not performing or teaching, Dustin enjoys fly fishing and archery. Mary is absolutely thrilled to be making her debut at The Edge Theater. She was last seen on stage over 3 years ago in the title role of The Unsinkable Molly Brown at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, and she is honored to be coming out of “retirement” to join this unbelievably talented cast and amazing production staff for this incredible show. Mary’s career as a local theater performer began some 20 years ago as a Barnstormer at the late Country Dinner Playhouse. Over the years, some of her favorite roles have included Betty in White Christmas, Molly Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Town Hall Arts Center); Schwartzy in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Erma in Anything Goes (Boulder’s Dinner Theatre); and Frenchy in Grease (Country Dinner Playhouse). Mary would like to thank you, the patrons of The Edge Theater, for supporting local, live theater. Many thanks also to Rick Yaconis for taking a chance, and to Steve for, well, everything.

Robert has worked successfully in the entertainment industry for over 25 years in theatre, film, music and television, and is an award winning songwriter, actor and director, and is excited to be back at The Edge for his second show!
