God needs mothers at church, school, and in our communities who will faithfully inspire others by their Godly example, the joyful expressions of God’s continual goodness and faithfulness, and their diligent instruction of scripture. What a privilege, what joy is ours as mothers! When our influence is for truth, for virtue, when we are guided by divine wisdom, what a power for Christ will be our lives! “She opens her mouth with wisdom ...her tongue is the law of kindness...watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her…She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindess. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.

What an incredible gift is a Godly mother! How often I thank the Lord for the man who was willing to share his love for God with my parents. How thankful I am for the time he took to study the Bible with them. I feel the deepest gratitude to my parents for being willing to love the truth of God’s Word and to faithfully follow His instruction to the very best of their understanding. What a privilege to be raised in a home where the goodness of God was remembered every morning and evening in family worship!

My mother loves the Lord with all her heart and continues to seek the Lord’s will in her life. From my earliest memories she has always been cheerful, helpful, and faithful. The power of my mother’s example and counsel has encouraged me to be the mother God would have me to be; to raise my children to serve and love Him, to remember His continual goodness and bountiful blessings, to be faithful, to do our best in everything because we are doing everything for Him.

“The queen upon her throne has not a work equal to that of the faithful mother who is bringing up her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (HR June 1, 1877) “The sphere of the mother may be humble; but her influence, united with the father’s, is as abiding as eternity. Next to God, the mother’s power for good is the strongest known on earth.” (AH 240.1) If there was ever a day when God needs faithful mothers, it’s today. Not just for

our own children, but for all our children, youth, and other mothers.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” Proverbs 31:26-29 (NKJV)

5 Simple Ways

to be a Godly Mother

1. Spend time with God every day.

2. Teach your children to love the Lord.

3. Lead them by example.

4. Surround yourself with Christian friends.

5. Be active in church and look for ways to be a blessing in your community

A New Library…. Although I am new to most of you, I feel quite at home since I was born here, attended our church school, WJA, and absolutely loved the Wilson Sabbath School and church. After academy and college, I eventually made my way to Wisconsin where my career track led to Wisconsin Academy and eventually WI Conference. During those years I never missed a Campmeeting and one of the highlights there was the Sunday Super Book Sale. I eventually had to buy bookcases for all the books I hoped to read. Well, life in the U.P. has finally offered me 'retirement' and I've been reading my books and finding them to good to not share. Since the Wilson Church library has recently been destroyed in the fire, I want to make them available to you now. There are scores of books I'd like to donate to our church library once the church is finished. The books are Adventist Publishing house books. Many are children's books and many are Bible narratives; many others are biographies. Some favorite authors are Morris Vendon, Kay Rizzo, Larry Lichtenwalter, William Johnson, Bradley Booth, Jan Doward, Terri Fivash, Clifford Goldstein, David B. Smith, Marvin Moore, Josephine Edwards, to name a few. You may have more time for reading during this Covid19 deal then ever so welcome to my library even before they go to the new church. I think you will be blessed. I now live in my parents’ home, next door to Char Moon, my sister. Please feel free to contact me at (608) 354-1333. Looking forward to seeing you! Aileen King (Berger)

P.S.

We are truly enjoying one of the books Aileen brought over, Dare to Stand Alone. It is an incredible true story of a young man’s life who was determined to be a missionary for God wherever he was called…even to the Soviet Army. God honored this man’s faith just like Daniel of old. Truly inspiring. We are reading it to our children for evening worship. What a blessing!

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!

Dear Teachers,

Even when the virtual bell rings, we know your work is never done.

There are still lessons to plan, homework to grade and video conferences to

attend. But even if your home is your new classroom, your whiteboard is a

tablet and your students who you wish you could hug, are miles away – you

are doing an incredible job, and we are so blessed to have you.

So thank you for the lessons. For inventing new, new ways to keep

your students engaged. For educating a future generation, especially now.

- BBW

Kids Papers Hey Kids!

Your Sabbath School handouts; Little Friends, Primary Treasures, and Guides are in the blue tote by the school entry.

Stop by and get yours.

Because you’re educating from a distance… learning new ways to teach… Because you miss seeing your students every day… and still don’t have time for lunch… Thank you!
