two full replacement solutions are available: both are designed for installation in existing shafts.

KONE MaxiSpace™ is ideal for residential buildings where space is limited. It enables you to increase the size of the elevator car by as much as 50% using the original elevator shaft.

KONE MonoSpace® is particularly useful in higher-volume applications, such as small offices and hotels. It can reduce electricity consumption by thousands of kilowatt hours a year.

Safer and more accessiblewhichever application you choose, the solutions improve safety, accessibility, performance, visual appearance and eco-efficiency. a new electrification system ensures reliable operation, a smooth ride and accurate floor leveling. automatic doors in the elevator car improve safety and open wide to increase accessibility.

Same shaft, 50% more space

there is no counterweight in the Kone Maxispace, so the size of the elevator car can be increased by as much as 50%. If the existing elevator can carry four people, the Kone Maxispace solution could carry up to six. this provides more convenient access, and lets passengers transport baby carriages, furniture and other large objects more easily.

Serving more floorsthe Kone Maxispace does not need a machine room. so the elevator can go all the way to the attic or a top-floor apartment, without having to build a machine room on the roof of the building. the old machine room can be used for storage or other purposes.

Traction elevators usually have a hoisting arrangement using a counterweight that takes up space in the shaft. The KONE MaxiSpace™ needs no counterweight, so this space can be used to fit a larger car into the shaft.

the Kone Monospace elevator, with the Kone ecoDisc® motor, has proven its reliability in more than half a million installations worldwide. It can cut energy by more than 70% compared with a hydraulic elevator.

Safe and smooththe Kone Monospace improves ride comfort by reducing noise and vibration with the Kone ecoDisc hoisting machine. the new braking system, with smooth, silent operation, reduces noise and vibration still further.

The most flexible and versatile designsyou can freely mix and match the wide range of materials and accessories in the Kone design collection. using the Kone CarDesigner tool, you can try different combinations and find the perfect match for the decor of your building. Two ways to use space more efficientlythe Kone Monospace elevator uses space more efficiently in two ways. first, there is no machine room, so you can use that space for another purpose. second, the elevator equipment requires less space in the shaft. this allows for a larger car to be installed in place of the current one. together with slim, wide-opening automatic doors, this improves passengers’ accessibility and comfort.

we support you every step of the waywe make the entire modernization process as efficient and convenient as possible.

STEP 2: Site SurveyBefore the project begins, the Kone Project Manager carries out a detailed site survey in order to ensure the project is completed safely and on time.

STEP 3: Installation on average, installation takes about six weeks. Kone technicians protect the floors and walls of the building to ensure that no damage is caused during the project. they provide safe access routes and keep residents informed, using the InfoMod service, about how the work is progressing. Kone also ensures safe, environmentally-friendly removal, disposal or recycling of the old equipment.

STEP 1: Planningevery Kone installation project has an experienced Project Manager in charge. with the Kone Care for life™ analysis, they assess the condition of your existing elevator and determine the best solution. using the Kone CarDesigner tool, they can help you design your new elevator interior and doors.

STEP 4: Completion when installation has been completed, Kone performs the final safety and performance inspections before handover to the client. to ensure long-lasting reliability, Kone service technicians provide preventive maintenance services.
