Abstract: The electrical parameter deviation of GPS antenna
patch base material is caused by the productive processes, and
it influences on the performance of GPS antenna. A rapid test
method for the electrical parameter deviation of GPS antenna
patches is proposed in this paper. The design principle and the
test apparatus are given in detail based on the stripline model.
The test result shows the proposed method is efficiency and the
test method is also convenient for large-scale manufacture.
There are two basic measurement methods for
dielectric constant of material: resonance cavity
method and microstrip line method[1][2].The resonance
cavity method need the suitable shape of under-test
sample and the working band is narrow and the
material shape is special, while the microstrip line
method need analysis the test model with complex
formula or using EM simulation. Here we design a
test apparatus, which based on stripline model. It can
distinguish the electrical parameter deviation of GPS
antenna patch caused by the productive processes in
deferent batch conveniently.

1 Introduction
As the global position technology has been used
wider and wider, the requirement quantities of
microstrip GPS antenna are increased dramatically.
The GPS antennas are manufactured through four
important processes: patch model pressing, sintering,
printing and modifying. In the large-scale manufacture
situation, the productive processes of GPS patches
influence on the performance of GPS antenna strictly.
The powder and sintering temperature will determine
the electrical parameters of GPS patches, so the GPS
patches from different batch may have different
electrical parameters. If the electrical parameter
deviation of GPS antenna patches can be detected
before printing, it can increase the
exempt-modification rate efficiently. In order to
