Effective Teaching Techniques Workshop
was successfully conducted on 9-11th
Sept 2014 and
7-8th
October 2014.There were four session every
day. Each session was entitled with a proper caption
which was headed by respective Excellencies of that
field. PG students of M.Tech 2nd
Years of all
branches (VLSI, ETRX, CSE, ESC, EC, CAD-
CAM, WCC, MT, IPS, HeatPower, transportation,
environmental) were present for the workshop. The
workshop mainly emphasized on the effective
teaching skill for M.Tech students, of which
majority will choose teaching as a profession in the
near future.
Eminent speakers shared their valuable
thoughts with student.Lecture on Lesson plan
practice and the psychology of learning in the art of
teaching by Mr.AmitSanyal Dr. D.J.Tidke.,
Dr.S.S.Dorle, Dr.D.V.Padole, Dr.L.G.Malik
Mrs.GauriMahajan, Jenifer Malik were among the
expert speakers. Lecture on Course objective and
course outcomes and evaluations of course outcomes
was delivered by Dr. P.R.Bajaj & lecture on Student
evaluation and need based teaching was given by Dr.
P.B .Nagarnaik.The workshop undertaken proved
very useful for students and reviews obtained from
them was satisfactory. Prof.A.Thomas, Dean PG
programmes & Prof.P.H.Rangaree was the overall
coordinator of the workshop.

Techniques‟ for
M. Tech. CAD/CAM students
Department of Mechanical Engineering
arranged a guest lecture on 16/10/2014 for Data
Structure & Algorithm by Dr. S. R. Sathe from
VNIT, Nagpur. The students of 1st year M. Tech
CAD/CAM attended the expert lecture. He shared
his vast knowledge of data structure with students
and cleared their doubts and concepts very
beautifully. He guided the students about the future
scope in data structure field. He also taught various
sorting techniques and their applications and
implementation in data structure. He later dwelt on
algorithmic notations and time complexity. At the
end, he elaborated on complicated topics like
various kinds of asymptotic analysis of algorithm &
vital points to be kept in mind during writing a
sorting technique algorithm. All students were
benefited by the immense knowledge inputs on Data
Structure.
The success of guest lecture is attributed to

On the occasion of departmental forum under
which a guest lectures were organized by department
of Electronics Engineering on the 22 September
2014.
Experts from ICE institute had
acknowledged plenty of students who were GATE
passed score & living researcher life after their
graduation. In research works for doing M.Tech &
M.E. A group of students were keen to know about
University Intake & opportunity about admission
ranks. Research works and stipend facilities during
learning were more expressively discussed. In

According to ICE they have make it plenty
of students as researcher from GHRCE in last few
years. Looking toward same approach an

On the occasion of Ganpati Mohostav and
departmental forum under which a guest lectures
were organized by department of Electronics
Engineering on the 19 September 2014.
Director of ICAD institute had

in PG Lab of Electronics Engineering Department.
The Expert Person was Dr.M.M.Mushrif,
Professor,Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering Dept Yeshwantrao Chavan College of
Engineering,Nagpur. The Expert was accompanied
by PG coordinators Dr.S.D.Giripunje and
Prof.P.H.Rangaree.
Total 72 PG students of VLSI and
Electronics Engineering Stream of first semester and
third semester were present. The theme of the lecture
was Image Segmentation. In that, various topics on
Segmentation ,principle approaches, Edge Detection,
Ideal & Ramp Edges,Noise Images were discussed.
The expert also gave basic knowledge of Operators,
thresholding, Region growing, Region splitting etc.
It was a well organized and beneficial lecture for the
students.

Dr.R.M.Patrikar, is Dean & Professor in Electronics
and Telecommunication Engineering Department
VNIT, Nagpur. He carried research work in the area
of CAD for VLSI and Nano-electronics. He has
published more than 45 papers in international
journals, conferences and has filed for one patent in
USA in the area of VLSI testing. He is also a
Member of Techical staff at Computational
Research Laboratories (CRL). His area of interest
include VLSI Design and Technology, Nano
Technology, Device Modeling. The Expert was
accompanied by PG coordinators Dr.S.D.Giripunje,
Prof.P.H.Rangaree and subject teacher Prof. Wani
V.Patil. Total 72 PG students of VLSI and
Electronics Engineering Stream of first semester and
third semester were present. The theme of the lecture
was “Quantitative theory of Bipolar transistor
having uniform doping” which is for the subject
Solid State Devices. In that, various topics on
Transistor along with the currents governed by the
transistor is covered. It was a very interactive and
beneficial lecture for the students.

The guest lecture was organized for PG students of
VLSI and Electronics Engineering branch of G. H.
Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur on 17th
October 2014 at 10 am in PG Lab of Electronics
Engineering Department. The Expert Person was
Mr. Khushal Gumgoankar from Electronics for
Imaging, Inc, Bangalore. The Expert was
accompanied by PG coordinators Dr.S.D.Giripunje
and Prof.P.H.Rangaree. Total 16 PG students of
Electronics Engineering Stream of first semester
were present. The theme of the lecture was Non
Binary Code. In that, BCH code for error correction
and Reed–Solomon (RS) error correction code were
discussed. The expert also gave basic knowledge
Linear block code, basic of convolution code. It was
a well-organized and beneficial lecture for the

Guest Lecture on “Video Processing
using MATLAB”
Department of Electronics Engineering of
G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has
organized Guest Lecture on “Video Processing using
MATLAB” by Mr. Ambarish Salodkar, on 11th
March 2013 for post graduate (M.Tech) students of
VLSI and Electronics. Mr.Ambarish Salodkar is a
assistant professor in ARMIET Mumbai.
Mr.Salodkar was welcomed by Prof.S.D.Giripunje.
Mr. Salodkar started lecture with the basics of image
processing in MATLAB and thereby developed the
technique of Video Processing. The lecture includes
theory as well as hands on session on MATLAB.
Main focus of the lecture and hands-on practice was
to explore knowledge about video processing which
can be implemented in the projects related to
images. Exposure to this technology will open up
new avenues in image processing and greatly help
students for carrier in such type of design jobs.

organised a technical workshop on 21/9/14. Tecxtra
Technologies Pvt.ltd, one of the fastest up-coming
and most promising company in the field of
Research & Development in Central India. It sets a
stage for the “next generation" of upcoming
technology by providing a complete range of

They conducted a 2 day‟s workshop on
Robotics led by Mr. Shyam Prasad and his crew,
under this workshop they aimed to add new
dimensions to increase ideas and provide proficiency
in work along with a great awareness among the
students who are new in the field of Robotics &
Embedded System. In this workshop they trained
and encouraged the participants to design and
develop Robot by their own and with the assurance
that at the end of this workshop students will be in a
position to give shapes to their ideas.The prime
topics covered during this workshop were-
Message in Space (POV) using AVR Micrcontroller,
Mobile Controlled Robot, SSD and LED Blinker
using AVR ATMega8,
PC Controlled Robot,
PC based Automation System also, additional
softwares were taught namely-AVRStudio
,WInAVR ,Flash magic and Sinaprog.
This workshop was organised with the
collaboration of IEEE and ZENITH which was
conducted successfully under the supervision of
IEEE Incharge Prof.L P Thakare, IEEE chair
Vaibhav Umate , ZENITH forum Incharge
Prof.W.V.Wyavhare and ZENITH president Snehal
Manglekar. Also credits to the team whose efforts
made this workshop a success. The team consists of

attended Workshop on “Internal
Quality Assurance Mechanisms” at
IIT Madras
Mrs. S. R. Dixit attended three days‟
workshop on “Internal Quality Assurance
Mechanisms” at IIT Madras. The workshop was
during 28-30 October, 2014. It was arranged for
faculty members of TEQIP funded institutions. The
main objective of the workshop was to improve the
teaching-learning methods in the institute and it
insisted on giving the stress on learner centric
approach and not on teacher centric approach. The
workshop was conducted at Teaching Learning
Centre, IIT Madras and was coordinated by Dr.
Edamana Prasad and Dr. Rajeev Sukumaran, IIT,
Madras. There were more than 50 participants from
all over India. Some of the key points in the
workshop were Learner Diversity & Motivation
Parameters, Use of Learning Outcomes for quality
assurance, active & cooperative learning, quality
audit of laboratory courses, psychological aspects of
learning, reflective teaching etc.

Poster Presentation
On 11th
October, 2014, students of M. Tech.
CAD/CAM were seen engrossed in working on a lot
of creative ideas. All students gathered at
Mechanical Department with enthusiasm to present
their creativity to all the Raisonians at the „Creative
Corner‟. A wide variety of ideas ranging from social
issues to technical concepts of projects were
presented by the students. Innovative working
models were also displayed. After the day‟s hard
work and waiting, it was the turn of judges to
evaluate students‟ work and identify creative works
different from others. They were all praise for
students‟ creative contributions. At the end of day all
students truly enjoyed being part of a stimulating
day and went down into the memory lanes of school
days where they had enjoyed creative pursuits
before.

Nagpur and IITs (Powai, Khadagpur). Dr. A. Y.
Deshmukh, Dr. P. B. Nagarnaik along with HOD
and all faculties of Electronics and
Telecommunication Department was present for the
seminar. According to reviews obtained by experts,
proper changes were going to be done in syllabus.

Surprise Visit to
Amitasha Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
M.I.D.C., Hingna, Nagpur
Surprise visit was conducted under industry
internship activities of the Department at
AMITASHA Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Hingna MIDC,
Nagpur for 7th semester students on 11/09/2014.
During the visit all the student members of batches
A-13, C-5, C-6, and C-20 were found present in
company premises and were engrossed in studying
and observing various manufacturing processes used
for manufacturing of transmission towers.
Visiting faculty members discussed various
training issues like punctuality and performance of
students with Mr. P. N. Dwiwedi, Sr. Manager, Mr.
Kher, HR Manager and Mr. Dutta, Director. A high
level of satisfaction was reported.

Department of Electronics Engineering,
GHRCE, Nagpur, is known for providing quality
training which is effective in upgrading the
knowledge and skill-set of the students. Continue

year project exhibition-13 dated on 21 March, 2013.
For this event from well known National
Environmental Engineering research (NEERI),
Nagpur Mr.N.N.Bokade working as Sr.Technical
Officer. Along Mr.Pradeep Ekapure Director of
Dhawani system Pvt.Ltd.Nagpur .has evaluated total
38 groups with two Interdisciplinary groups.

(VLSI) had visited to Sonali Power Equipment
Pvt.Ltd,38, Surendra Nagar, Hingna MIDC at
Nagpur, on date 11th
October 2014. The main aim is
to provide students a glimpse of the actual work
situation and to understand the industry
environment, to study the production of product
manufactured, to get a first hand information about
the operative system , machines and procedure
adopted by industries in practice and to gain some
work experience. Mr. Vijay Sontakke, Manager, has
provided necessary information to student about the
procedure of manufacture of different types of step-
down transformers ranging from 25 kW to 200 kW
and the visit has successfully done. Visit is
organized by Department of Electronics
Engineering, GHRCE, Nagpur. Prof. S.V.Bhalerao
accompany to the students in the visit.
