A Note from the VPAR Dear Sisters, With the spring semester nearly coming to a close, I am happy to be writing to you to share what the Theta Omicron Chapter has been up to lately! We have had a packed semester, including events such as Panhellenic movie nights, philanthropy events, socials, Moms’ Weekend, and even a sisterhood trip to Disneyland. Recently, our chapter was even awarded both the Panhellenic and All-Greek Chapter of the Year awards in recognition of our efforts during the 2015 calendar year! I have taken care to include plenty of details about these awards, as well as our Informal Recruitment process. I hope you enjoy reading about our semester! Love in Sigma Kappa, Kaitlyn Wender
Take a Look Into Our Chapter
Awards If I were to describe late March and early April using one word, that word would have to be “humbling.” On March 29, several former and current Executive Council members, along with a few advisers, attended the ASU Greek Awards commemorating the 2015 calendar year. This Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards gathering utilizes a Standards of Excellence rubric to award chapters on different aspects of their operations. This rubric includes everything from the chapter scholarship program to parent, volunteer, and alumni involvement. Our chapter was recognized for excellence in a variety of categories and finally with the awards for most overall points within Panhellenic (Chapter of the Year) and the Greek community at large (President’s Cup). It has been such an incredible time to be an ASU Sigma Kappa!

Upcoming Events
Welcome, New Sigmas! In January, we hosted a successful informal spring recruitment weekend. The process included coffee dates as well as two rounds in Adelphi. The informal recruitment rounds were beautiful with a theme focusing on pastels. Decorations included streamers, tassels, and the occasional flower. We even offered specialty donuts at our round two event! On Sunday, we held Bid Day in our Adelphi housing cluster. The day was circus themed as we welcomed new members with lollipops, cotton candy, and a dance party. This spring new member class was initiated on February 28. We are so proud to have welcomed such an incredible class into our Theta Omicron chapter!
