Make an application to Upper Year of Science through the OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Centre) at ouac.on.ca/105 by June 1.

Using the OUAC application, a request can be made to send mid-year Fanshawe transcripts to Western electronically. Please watch for the prompts and carefully note the timelines for sending transcripts.

A Pathway to Western

Computer ScienceThis information sheet has been designed specifically for Fanshawe Computer Programmer Analyst Diploma Program graduates who would like to be considered for admission to Year 3 of Western’s Major, Specialization or Honors Specialization in Computer Science as part of the approved Articulation Agreement.

STEP 3: OFFER OF ADMISSION

Offers of admission are sent on a rolling basis starting in January. Conditional offers of admission will be given to applicants who are in their final semester at Fanshawe, if all other admission requirements are met. Final transcripts will be required to determine if all admissions conditions have been satisfied.

Admission Requirements } Graduate of Fanshawe’s 3-year Computer

Programmer Analyst diploma program; } Minimum cumulative average of “B+” (or 3.5

GPA); } Minimum of “C” (or 60%) in each course

considered for transfer credit, except those evaluated on a pass/fail basis, in which case a pass is required;

} Completion of grade 12 Calculus (MCV4U) or equivalent is required by the end of the first term at Western.

1. When will I receive an offer of Admission?

Conditional offers of admission to general programs begin in January. Final offers will be sent when the conditions of admission under this articulation agreement are met.

2. I’m graduating in August. Can I still apply for a September start?

If you are graduating in August and you meet the requirements, you may be admitted to the Agreement provided there are spaces available and you are able to provide the Admissions Office with your final transcript before classes begin in September. It is your responsibility to obtain a copy of your official transcript and deliver it to Western.

3. I have previously attended another university. Am I eligible for consideration under this Agreement?

This Agreement have been developed as a pathway for applicants without previous university experience. If you have attended another post-secondary institution prior to your attendance at Fanshawe, please contact the Admissions Office at Western.

4. Will I be eligible for the Science Internship Program at Western?

You may be eligible for this program if you will be at Western for at least 2 years as a full-time student. You must apply for this program at the start of your second last full-time year at Western. Please contact Career Services for additional information on eligibility.

5. What if I decide I don’t want to complete my degree in Computer Science?

Western’s modular structure means that students can choose from numerous subject areas. However, if you decide not to complete the Computer Science module, the block credit is not transferable and your transfer credits will be reassessed.
