Helping Hands... On April 6th Loaves & Fishes held our annual Walk-for-Hunger. Over 60 walkers gathered at Sabal Point Elementary to walk around beautiful Sabal Point. Thank you so much to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped raise money for those in need right here in our community. The total raised was $12,598 which was matched by an anonymous donor! Awards given included: Best Attendance—First Baptist Church of Zellwood and Most Money Raised—M. Grady, Central Florida Restoration Church. Thank you to our volunteers: Charlotte, Charlene, Debbie, Jerry U., Jerry M., Jess, Mr. Sinclair, Mary, Val and Iris! God bless every one of you for your part in making the walk a success!

Thank you to the Apopka Fire Department for their $500 donation! This donation was made in memory of Norm Ustler, past Apopka Fire Department Chief. His

son (maroon shirt), Jerry Ustler, blessed us with a prayer to start our Walk A Thon. Jerry Maynard (light blue shirt), Lieutenant of the Apopka Fire Department,

presented us with the check.

“A Night of Praise,” featuring Southern Gospel music, was held in February at the Apopka Community Center. This event was sponsored by Turning Point Ministry and was a fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes. Thank you for such a beautiful night of music and fellowship.

A BIG Thank You to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Longwood. Their focus in helping the community through Loaves & Fishes was “Give a Hoot, Bring Some Soup”. They collected 798 units of soup in the month of April. In March, they collected baby items for all our new mommies!

The sweet Apopka Elementary School Honor Society Students brought in food items and packed food bags. for our clients.

The Red Caps of Zellwood Station gather food each year to support Loaves & Fishes. They have been supporting us for many years with this annual food drive. Thanks for all you do!

Middle-schooler, Tamarian, collected donations for Loaves & Fishes using his chore money to receive volunteer hours! Way to go Tamarian. Keep up the great work!

Trinity Christian School surprised us with the presentation of a $501.00 check! They also collected a van full of food and household items. Thank you for always thinking of others in our community. We love you all!

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3
