Baxter, which already employs 500 persons, will employ another 100 workers. In fact, in the span of two months,it increased production by 20% and extended its operations to offer more medical products to local and foreignhospitals. The government will continue to help companies so that, like Baxter, they can transform challenges intoopportunities. The manufacturing industry is and remains vital for economic activity in the country and in times likethese it has shown its agility and flexibility to adjust to the new reality. Soon, a number of new economic measureswill be announced to stimulate all economic sectors and to provide a greater sense of trust in the future.

VIRTUAL HALF MARATHON

In order to make up for the cancelled half marathon which takes place every year in Xagħra, Gozo, the organiserswill launch a virtual run based on a new route. The half marathon will still take place next April, and those who areinterested should apply on the site Active #RunGozo Virtual. All that one has to do is to then record their run on theapp (such as Strava and Fitbit) and upload the run on the Active website. The competition closes at the end of nextJune, with the winners being chosen in a random manner and announced on social platforms.

INSPECTIONS

For two days running no one was found in groups of more than 4 persons in public places, as per the legal noticeissued by the government. No one was found breaking obligatory quarantine during the 1,162 inspections carried outin the last 48 hours.
