A. Pre-proposal meeting Questions and Answers are detailed below:
Q1. Sheet AS1.0 shows a fire hydrant at the cul-de-sac but it is not shown anywhere on the civil. Should there be a hydrant on the civil drawings?
A1. No fire hydrant – this has been deleted.
Q2. C4.0 shows a segmented block retainage wall. Can you please clarify or provide
a detail?
A2. The design and construction of the wall will be the responsibility of the contractor. Submittal drawings must be signed and sealed by an engineer duly registered in the state of South Carolina. Bidders shall include the design costs in their proposal. See attached Sketch C-1 and Sketch C-2 for additional information pertaining to the wall. Wall to have 4” solid cap.
Q3. Is the bleacher provider building the block wall in front or should the contractor
quote this?
A3. See Sheets A1.02 and A1.03 for details for wall. Wall to be by General Contractor.

Q4. Which type of insulation should be used on the roof? It appears to be calling out
2 types: Extruded Polystyrene Board Insulation or Polyisocyanurate Board Insulation with Facers Both Sides
A4. Roof insulation board to be Polyhisocyanurate.
Q5. Since there has not been a site visit scheduled for this project, we would like to
ask for the last day for questions be postponed for one (1) day after the scheduled site visit.
A5. At the pre-bid meeting it was noted to contact the district or cm to arrange
site visits. Q6. We would like to ask for the bid to be postponed one week after the proposed
last day for questions after a scheduled site visit?
A6. Bid date will remain as indicated.
Q7. Is there any existing chain link fencing around the existing football field? We would like to know the extent of all fencing on this project.
A7. Refer to project drawings for new fencing required and this amendment for additional clarifications. See sheet as1.00.
Q8. When will a site visit be scheduled for this project?
A8. As indicated at the pre-bid conference, by request upon contacting the owner or cm.
Q9. Since the site visit was delayed will the RFI date be extended? A9. The site visit was not delayed. Q10. Could you please clarify the scope of work intended for bleachers, sports
lighting, and scoreboard provided by the owner? Who will be pouring the footers at the bleachers, who will be connecting the power for sports lighting and the scoreboard etc.
A10. Refer to clarifications within this amendment. See Sheet AS1.00. Q11. Is the press box shown on A1.02 in the contractor’s scope of work?

A11. The press box is included in the bleacher vendor scope of work. Contractor to coordinate timing and installation as well as all indicated electrical requirements. Refer also to this amendment for additional clarifications. See Sheet A1.02.
Q12. If press box is in the contractor’s scope of work, can you provide detail and
finish schedule? A12. See item Q11 above. Q13. Will any work be required at existing baseball field? A13. None is indicated with exception of installation of new pavilion at entrance. Q14. There are two (2) lists of insurance requirements in the specs that differ from
each other. Page 22 of the specs under 7.2.5 and page forty- three (43) under 11.1.2.1 differ from each other. Which section is prevailing?
A14. 7.2.5 is the correct requirment Q15. Sheet C3.0 shows sod on the soccer field. There does not appear to be any
irrigation shown on the plans so will the owner be responsible for maintaining the sod?
A15. Irrigation will be provided under a separate contract to be bid at a later
date. Contractor will be required to coordinate with installation as field is final graded and prepped for sod. See Sheet AS1.00 for location of sleeves under walks to be provided and installed by General Contractor.
Q16. What type of warranty will be required for the sod if there is no irrigation in
place? A16. The SOD will be irrigated. Q17. Are the access ramps at the bleachers provided with the bleachers?
A17. See Sheets A1.02 and A1.03 for clarification. Ramps provided by Bleacher Installer.
Q18. Are the handrails at the bleachers provided with the bleachers?

3.01 INSTALLATION

C. Line Post Footing Depth Below Finish Grade: ASTM F567.
D. Corner, Gate and Terminal Post Footing Depth Below Finish Grade: ASTM F567.
E. Provide top rail through line post tops and splice with 6 inch long rail sleeves.
F. Do not stretch fabric until concrete foundation has cured 14 days.
G. Stretch fabric between terminal posts or at intervals of 100 feet maximum, whichever is less.
H. Position bottom of fabric 2 inches above finished grade.
I. Fasten fabric to top rail, line posts, braces, and bottom tension wire with tie wire at maximum 15 inches on centers.
J. Attach fabric to end, corner, and gate posts with tension bars and tension bar clips.
K. Install bottom tension wire stretched taut between terminal posts.
L. Install gate with fabric to match fence. Install hardware.
M. Provide concrete center drop to footing depth and drop rod retainers at center of double gate openings.

3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify JHS of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
3.03 INSTALLATION
A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Set fence posts in accordance with the manufacturer recommended spacing.
C. Space gate posts according to the manufacturers' drawings, dependent on standard out-to-out gate leaf dimensions and gate hardware selected.

1. Base type and quantity of gate hinges o the application; weight, height, and number of gate cycles.
2. Provide gate hardware by the manufacturer of the gate and install in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations.
3.04 ERECTION TOLERANCES
A. Maximum Variation From Plumb: 1/4 inch.
B. Maximum Offset From Indicated Position: 1 inch.
C. Minimum Distance from Property Line: 6 inches.
3.05 CLEANING
A. Clean jobsite of excess materials; scatter excess material from post hole excavations uniformly away from posts. Remove excess material if required.
B. Clean fence with mild household detergent and clean water rinse well.
C. Remove mortar from exposed posts and other fencing material using a 10 percent solution of muriatic acid followed immediately by several rinses with clean water.
D. Touch up scratched surfaces using materials recommended by manufacturer. Match touchup paint color to fence finish.
3.06 PROTECTION
A. Protect installed products until completion of project.
B. Touch-up, repair, or replace damaged products before Date of Substantial Completion.
