DESCRIPTION

During a 4- week project, the Industrial Design Intensive courstakers at UID, Umeå Institute of Design, had the challenge of designing a new hand saw for the gardening company Gardena. ANGLE OF BLADE

TESTED ANGLE 160 DEGREES

Page 21: A pull-back handsaw (re)created for the company Gardena

- Too big diameter- Too square in its shape (fish belly needs to be rounded)- Upper part is to square in its volume- Not intuitive in where to place the finger - Too flat of a volume in point A- Want more of a down angled blade

Changing the handle to a steep angle / so that wrist align to elbowRound the shapeWork carefully with volumes for gripDecrease diameter to 37 mmChange angle of blade
