➔ The south beach diet was created for “stickability” as most who begin a diet fail to complete the diet. It was also produced to replace any low-fat diet. The main idea is to replace bad fats with good fats and bad carbohydrates with the good.
➔ The originators of this label are Marie Almon, a dietician, and a cardiologist by the name of Arthur Agatston. .

➔ They had found that people who had followed a low-fat diet were eating just as much as when they were not on the diet.
➔ For this diet to help, it would mean that the person following would eliminate all saturated and trans fats from their daily eating. They would also eliminate grains and sugars as they are high in carbohydrates. Whole grains are allowed with the use of this diet.
