Hadith of the Month

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “None will taste the sweetness of faith until he loves a person only for the sake of Allah, until he would rather be thrown in the fire than to return to unbelief, and until Allah and his messenger are more beloved to him than anything else.”

lhamdulillah, by the Grace of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we Awitnessed a remarkable milestone in the history of Iqra International School - our 5th Annual Day. It was indeed a

special moment as the occasion highlighted the school's five successful years in its realm of imparting quality education to the children to excel in both - the Dunya and the Aakhirah.

It was a splendid event organised by the Iqra Juniors with soothing recitations, mesmerizing performances in their attractive colourful attire and eloquent speeches. The highlight of this occasion was the Parent awards given under various carefully chosen categories for the trust and constant undivided support the parents give us. Students too received prizes for excellence in various spheres, Ma Sha Allah.

May Allah help us to continue to serve the Ummah by imparting excellent value based education and creating leaders of tomorrow, In Sha Allah.

Despite the religious and cultural differences staying united is the strength of our nation. We Indians are brought up with the thought of harmony, though we have diversified aspects.

he theme “Interfaith – India” presentations were held on 9th February at IIS. Our Iqranians were Tgeared up to showcase their distinguished knowledge on “Interfaith” with their dynamic performances. The students of Grade 6 being the host, started off the event with their presentations

on” Interfaith” followed by their informative talk on some of the religions practiced in India, silent skit on unity in diversity and a role play on national integration. They also inculcated the importance of religious tolerance and also highlighted on the ways and means which could be followed to respect the people of other faith. The high spirited students of Grade 5 were delighted to entertain the audience with their street play and group song. The feel of patriotism was in the air when the Grade 4 students rendered the National Anthem with due respect. It was indeed a feast for the heart and mind to see our Iqranians take up the entire event with passion, patriotism and pride.

ICT Day

Thomas Edison once said, “Books will soon be obsolete in the public schools… our school system will be completely changed inside of ten years.” On 20th February, ICT Department invited all the subject teachers to the “ICT Day”. Ma Sha Allah, children explained and taught different software's and applications and how ICT tools are helpful in completing their assignments and projects to their facilitators. It also helped children in teams in order to achieve a given task. Students took responsibilities by organizing their work through digital portfolios and projects.

Alhamdulillah, ICT day was a great success. It has opened door to a new horizon into their lives. Be it a student or facilitator.

Visit to Zoo

An educational field trip to 'Zoo' (Bannerghatta National Park) was organized on 23rd February 2017 Tfor UKG and Montessori-3 children accompanied by their respective teachers and heads. The budding Iqranians were very excited to see the animals and birds around them.

Alhumdulilah, visiting zoo offered a wonderful introduction to animal science and gave incredible learning opportunities, while having an exciting learning experience for our little Iqranians. Kids really enjoyed watching the animals so close. As they walked around the zoo, they were exposed to words and concepts encouraging conversations between the children themselves and also with the teachers, allowing children to develop valuable skills and obtain priceless knowledge.

hile walking around with the children, teachers mentioned every animal, provided useful Winformation about specific animals and then asking questions as well. This helped increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Teacher's helped children become more aware of animal

behaviour, care and conservation. Children were told about the different ways of how animal's smell, the different sounds they make and what they look like. Hence, this trip to zoo offered a true multi-sensory approach to learning!

Zoo visits encourage curiosity thus encourage learning and brain development, allowing children to explore their environment leading to cognitive, language, motor and academic growth.

Dish Party

ommunication is effective, both the student cand the teacher benefit. Communication makes learning easier, helps students

achieve goals, increases opportunities for expanded learning, strengthens the connection between student and teacher and creates an overall positive experience.

Focusing on the above trait of building up the student's communication skills and mannerism, an activity was conducted for the girls of Grade 6-A. The students were filled with glee to welcome the teachers for the gathering. Students got an opportunity to learn about the table manners and use of communication in an informal setting. Each student contributed a dish of homemade food which was shared by them. Such etiquettes are a part of everyday life, be it professional or personal. The students and the teachers enjoyed this cheerful gathering which was based on the theme – food, fun and communication.
