A special camp was organized at Smt. S. R. Patel Engineering College, Dabhi

-Unjha on 9th October, 2012 for Tha-

lassemia and Hb-count test of all the girl students and the female staffs of

the college. The camp was totally free of cost for them. The camp was organ-

ized in association with Rotary Club,

Visnagar. The Indian Red-Cross Soci-ety—Ahmedabad was specially invited

for collection of blood samples for test-

ment. Prior to the organization of Tha-lassemia camp. The girl students were

made aware about Thalassemia, its

type and the effect of this blood—disorder in our life. The importance of

Thalassemia testing was also elabo-rated as it is the only measure of pre-

venting spreading of this disorder. An

informative documentary was also shown to the girl-students on the day

before the testing and during the camp.

Registration For Blood Testing

Principal and senior lady-staff members regarding the awareness among the girls related to their health issues and particularly about the importance of Thalassemia

and Hemoglobin count in the blood. A large number of girl students were present

during the camp for getting their blood tested. Total number of 168 girls of various branches and semester and 9 female college staff provided their blood samples for

testing. The whole event was well organized and controlled by the lady-faculties of the college and the Social-Accountability Club ‘Yogdaan’. The camp was another

evidence of the commendable efforts done by the college for all round develop-

ment of their students and staffs and taking up regular measures of social cause.
