A sensational lunch with prized sporting legends for Hospitality Action
Rugby legend Matt Dawson MBE entertained guests last week, at the first Hospitality Action
Sporting Legends Lunch. The charity dinner raised over
£60,000 and took place in the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
Hosted by TV anchor Mark Durden-Smith, the evening
consisted of a live auction and anecdotes from various
sports superstars including Derek Redmond, John Conteh,
Matthew Hoggard MBE and Willie Thorne.
The charity’s chief executive Penny Moore said: “Our
Sporting Legends Luncheon proved to be a fantastic afternoon of entertainment, raising a staggering
amount of money for the charity."
The funds raised ensured the charity has the vital resources needed to help those in the industry
that need it the most. Fundraising activities included a live auction hosted by Willie Thorne, with
many star lots. Principal items included a three-course dinner with wine at Tom Kerridge’s Hand and
Flowers for two, together with an overnight stay, and a tour package to the Masters 2015 in the
USA.
Hospitality Action’s last event of the year is on Monday, December 1. A
Star-Filled Christmas Dinner will feature Nathan Outlaw, Eric Lanlard and
Simon Hulstone. They are combining their experience, talent and love of
food at this special celebration which will take place at Brasserie Joël within
the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
