•What can we learn from her story?

Hannah…

• Had blessings… vv. 5, 8– But there was something missing…

• Had a rival… Peninnah– How did she deal with her? Eph. 4:26-27

• Had a desire… to have a son v.11– What did she finally do? v.10

• Worshipped God! v.19– Did she allow troubles to prevent her from

obeying God?

Hannah’s Faith

• She longed to be fruitful. Gen. 9:7; 28:3– She wanted a son. Was this a selfish desire?

• Hannah’s unfulfilled desire caused her to fast and weep, she still looked to the Lord!

• She prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. vv.10-19– She made a promise to God.– She poured out her soul to the Lord!

Hannah’s Answer

• Remember what Eli told Hannah? v.17• The Lord delivered! vv.19-20• She delivered! vv.24-28

– Samuel means “heard by God”.

• They praised the Lord and worshipped!

Lessons• Don’t sin when people trouble you.

•Learn to pour out your heart to God in prayer. James 4:8

•Dedicate not only yourself but also what God gives you to glorify Him.
