Frankfurt „Zeil“ is Germany‘s most crowded shopping street and a pedastrian-only area with an ample choice of shops. The Zeil is bordered by the two large plazas Hauptwache and Konstablerwache. During winter it is host on one of Europeans largest and oldest Christmas markets.

After our enlarged shopping trip we will have some refreshment in one of the great bars or restaurants in Frankfurt‘s „Fressgass“. Just a short sidewalk later we reach the Bull & Bear, popular sign (and photo scene) in front of Europe‘s 2nd largest stock exchan-ge, the „Deutsche Börse“.

Note: Deutsche Börse AG’s Visitors Center offers you an opportunity to visit the stock exchange free of charge. It‘s an unique chance to get little insight of this carzy finanicial spectacle! Just have a look at deutsche-boerse.com for more info.

„Römer“, the city hall, just means „Roman“ in translation and is located at the Roemerberg. It hosts the „Kaisersaal“ (Emperor's Hall) in upper floor as well as a huge balcony in front. This balcony is popular due to huge festivity of the German national football teams in the past years which now take place in Berlin.

After a short coffee break in one of the fantastic open-air bars on the Roemerberg we continue with a few steps to the city river „Main“. Here we can find a great setting to gaze, nice greenfields to chill and grill or lovely footpath to have a little paseo. In summer ice cream parlors will attract you!

Note: Of cource you can also discover the river scenery by boat. There are several cruise vessels on the pier and you can book different packages and tours through our beautiful city.

Frankfurt, sometimes called „Mainhattan“, is the only German city with a significant number of skyscrapers (buldings > 150m height). Comparison? While Frankfurt hosts 13 real skyscrapers, there is only ONE more in Germany (Bonn). You will have a fantastic panoramic view from the public observation deck of the Main Tower.

Note: There are also some other tall buildings, e.g. the Europe Tower which is reffered by the locals as „Ginnheimer Spargel“. Not that high but quite popular is the Goethe Tower with large playground and a café at ist foot.

Frankfurt hosts a huge variety of important historical or cultural places. On the left you see a picture of our impressive Old Opera House. Near the Roemerberg you find St. Paul‘s church, little plain but so steeped in history as the seat of the first democratically

elected Parliament in 1848.

We have a great tableau of wonderful museums, on the right picture you see the „Städel“ – my favourite and one of the most famous art museums in Germany. A superb highlight is a visit to the Museum of Dialogue with a dinner in the „Taste of Darkness“: served by blind people! Great experience.

Note: More informations and reservations for the „Taste of Darkness“ restaurant can be done by eMail to bookingline(at)dialogmuseum.de! Revenues are used caritative against discrimination of blind people.

5: Fun & nightlife

Frankfurt is famous for the real Hessisch apple wine, so a visit to the entertainment district of „Sachsenhausen“ with lots of eateries, bars and lounges is a must-have-done. It takes a little getting used to our culinary specialties but you should try „Rippchen & Kraut“, „Grüne Soße“ or „Handkäs mit Musik“.

The roots of techno music can be tracked back to Frankfurt, especial local DJ Sven Väth. Today Frankfurt has a huge number of nightlife and scene clubs of all music styles, techno clubs like U60311 in the city‘s under-ground are still infamous through whole Europe. Burn the candle at both ends!

Note: Frankfurt, as all big metropolises all over the world, still has a big drug scene and and high crime rate. Enjoy all the parties but never become too careless!

At the end of your trip it‘s time to say goodbye.

Get ready for take-off on Europe‘s biggest and most busiest Airport, go by car through the most heavily used interchange of Europe (Frankfurter Kreuz) or ride a train by the largest train station in Germany.

Frankfurt – magnificant in every aspect.

At the end: Bon voyage!
