To appraise the implications of developing listening skills in the learning process of foreign language in first graders by understanding how are they learning it.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
To explain the concept of Total Physical Response (TPR) Method and its main characteristics.
To identify advantages and disadvantages of Total physical Response (TPR) Method in the English Teaching process
To analyze the current methodology used in the English lessons To identify some advantages of developing listening skills in
elementary school´s students. To propose a teachers practicum on the use of English Labs for
the reinforcement of listening skills in first graders.
INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK
The school has more than 500 hundred students.There are three instutions that form Saint Michael.It is located in Desamparados.

CURRENT METHOLOGY USED AT SAINT MICHAEL SCHOOL WITH FIRST GRADERS
• Total Physical Response method (approach) Flashcards, pictures, movement
• Classes are taught in the target language.
• English, Science and Social Studies (special books according to the skill to be
developed)
• Implementation of technology when it is needed
• Audiovisual resources, platforms, songs, videos, listening activities (listening skills)
• Communicative approach (speaking competence).
ADVANTAGES OF DEVELOPING LISTENING SKILLS
• Beneficial for learners pronunciation.
• Recognize and get used to pitch, intonation and stress.
• Crucial to establish successful communication.
