Welcome to A Taste of Pingree, a night of fun-raising and fundraising. All proceeds from tonight’s event go to the Pingree Parents Association which each year generously contributes towards faculty wish-lists, professional development, and student financial aid. This year we will also be contributing to the fitting out of space in our new Arts and Athletics wings.

We are delighted to have Lenny Clarke, the North Shore’s famous comedian, as emcee and auctioneer for the night.

All of the delicious food and beverages for tonight’s tastings have been generously donated by the best restaurants and caterers in our area. In the coming months, please take time to visit the participating restaurants and thank them for their support of Pingree School. If you are planning a catered event, please consider using one of our featured caterers.

We are grateful to our wonderful volunteers, our generous donors, and to the extraordinary Pingree Advancement Office team for their help in planning tonight’s festivities.

Enjoy each other’s company and remember to bid early and often in support of our Pingree community.

Lenny Clarke was born in Cambridge, one of eight

children. He decided to pursue stand-up comedy

one night while working as a janitor, putting himself

through college at University of Massachusetts/

Boston. That night he went to the Ding-Ho Restaurant

in Cambridge and saw some comics performing.

Convinced he could do the same thing, he returned

the next week and... “The rest, as they say, is history!”

Lenny has traveled the world as a stand-up. His gifted comedic abilities captured the

attention of the legendary Rodney Dangerfield who gave Lenny his first big break

on TV, casting him on the HBO special “Nothin’ Goes Right,” in 1988. His other TV

work includes four-plus years on “The John Larroquette Show,” as Officer Adam

Hampton.

Lenny is a regular performer at Giggles, the comedy club at Prince, owned by

Pingree’s own Castraberti family, and one of our featured restaurants this evening.

We are grateful to the folloWing donors

103 arrive safely and in style to see taylor swift Donated by Pingree Parents’ Association Value: $1,100

Grab three of your friends and head to Gillette Stadium in style with a stretch limousine on Friday, July 26, 2013 to see the concert of the summer: Taylor Swift. This sold out concert also features Ed Sheeran and Austin Mahone. Taylor’s Red Tour is getting amazing reviews. Here is what Rolling Stone had to say: “Seeing Taylor Swift live in 2013 is seeing a maestro at the top of her or anyone’s game. No other pop auteur can touch her right now for emotional excess or musical reach – her punk is so punk, her disco is so disco. The red sequins on her guitar match the ones on her microphone, her shoes and 80 percent of the crowd.” These four tickets are located in Section 312, Row 17, seats 1–4. Limousine provides transportation to and from Gillette Stadium.

104 “vending Machine” painting by pingree students Donated by Gail & John Steele; Pingree Students Value: Priceless

Using acrylic paint pens, they recreated a mirror image of the composition which was then completely covered in black acrylic paint. The painting that you see is actually the “flip” side of their work backed by a painted gallery canvas. Undeniably a show stopping, conversation starting, and hugely fun work of art created by so many in the Pingree spirit of creativity and teamwork.
