The COASTS of Sardinia are generally rocky and high.
But there are also sandy and flat coasts in the south of the island.

The principal PLAINS are Campidano and La Nurra in the north-west of the island

There are lots of
ARTIFICIAL LAKES.
Lots of smaller islands surround Sardinia:
Asinara, Caprera, La Maddalena, San Pietro and Sant’Antioco.

Sardinia is one of the five italian AUTONOMOUS REGIONS, along with Valle d'Aosta, Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Sicily.

There are traces of ancient dominations from the past: Sardi, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Arabs and Spanish.

Craft industry includes rugs, jewellery, textile, lacework , basket making, and coral.But…the most important industry is TOURISM.
