• Manufacturers must notify of the ingredients competent authorities before placing the products on the market
Import of smokeless tobacco and nicotine
• Age limit 18 yrs for all tobacco or nicotine products• Import and sales of all smokeless tobacco products is
banned • Only restricted amounts for personal use allowed without health warnings in Finnish and Swedish
Distance sales • Retail outlets cannot supply their products by
distance sales (f.ex phone, internet) to consumers located in Finland
• The ban concerns tobacco products, e-cigarettes, nicotine liquids, and refill containers
→Finnish retailers cannot circumvent the ban by establishing their business abroad
Import for personal use• If you live in Finland and arrive from outside the
European Economic Areas (EEA), you may import tobacco products or nicotine liquids if your journey has lasted more than 24 hours.
• Outside the EEA , you may import tobacco and nicotine products if you are staying in Finland for more than 72 hours.
• Not applied to air traffic
Smokefree environmet• Smoking ban in a private car when children
are present• Housing companies can appeal to their
municipality for prohibition of smoking on balconies
• Stipulations are applied to situations in which smoke would spread from one dwelling to another through the structures
