Leadership Academy of Madison County (LAMC) is an interactive experience in com-munity leadership. Participants gain knowl-edge of our communities and learn aspects of Servant Leadership that they can use in collaborating, visioning, and celebrating all that Madison County can be.

Youth Leadership Academy of Madison County (YLA) is a select group of high school juniors from across Madison County who come together to learn about being Servant Leaders and working together to meet community needs through volunteer-ing and assuming leadership roles. Our alumni are a group of leaders who have experienced Leadership Academy and understand the power of staying con-nected. Together we can continue to use our passions and skills to make our com-munities better, help meet community needs, and continue our education as Ser-vant Leaders. We are partnering with the United Way of Madison County to connect our alumni with the needs of the community, non profit agencies and volunteer opportuni-ties speaks to the heart of our mission: Connecting Servant Leaders To Build Better Communities.

Servant Leadership. Collaboration. Visioning. Building Effective Teams. Managing Conflict. Consensus Building.

Description: Volunteers are truly

the heart and soul of our organiza-tion. Whether you are stroking a cat, walking a dog, cleaning a ken-nel or even greeting a visitor, each hour a volunteer gives has an im-measurable value. One of our top priorities is to al-ways create the best environment possible for our animals during their stay with us. For the safety of our wonderful helpers, staff, visi-tors and animals, we require that each volunteer be appropriately introduced to our facility and trained before assisting with the shelter needs. By volunteering to help at shelter events, you’re supplying a better chance for a dog to get adopted. They normally set in their kennel and wait to be seen. But by taking a dog out of the shelter and spend-ing a few hours at an adoption event, you’re giving the dog an opportunity to be seen by more people. And they’re being social-ized, which will reduce their stress level.

Description: The Paramount

Theatre is one of a few existing atmospheric theatres designed by famed national architect John Eberson. Eberson was the original imaginative creator of the “atmospheric.” His Spanish court-yard design of the Paramount in-cluded eclectic ornamentation, unique statuaries, a beautiful trel-lis adorned with floral and ivy, and a magical night sky complete with hundreds of twinkling stars. Not only did the opulent décor of the Paramount distinguish itself from the neighboring theatres, but the 36 foot tall and 69 inches wide Paramount blade marquee became a familiar sight in downtown Anderson. Out of 155 Eberson "atmospheric" theatres that were built only 12 of them exist, two of them are located in Indiana, The Embassy Theatre located in Fort Wayne, Indiana and The Para-mount Theatre located in Ander-son, Indiana.
