GR5 LESSON = ACTION-ORIENTEDStudent is empowered as Chief Inspector to lead their family through steps to:

• Learn about hazards in their community

• Develop family emergency communication plans

• Determine the location of utilities, & understand when & how to secure them

• Create evacuation plans, map their homes, and mark meeting places

• Identify items to take during an evacuation

• Create and/or update emergency kits

PROCESS FOR ARRANGING & TEACHING A GR5 CLASS

A local agency will...

1. Determine all the schools within their jurisdiction.2. Announce the program to the schools within their jurisdiction.3. Schedule classes with schools and instructors.4. Decide on homework administration.5. Purchase prizes, if desired.6. Obtain the student manuals from their county contact.7. Review the GR5 curriculum.8. Conduct the GR5 lesson to the schools.9. Collect the homework and award prizes10. Track course presentation and homework results, if desired.
