From world-class performance facilities to state-of-the-art engineering labs, WTAMU

computers stationed throughout its five classrooms and open-access computer lab. The chemistry facilities include a

One of the things I most appreciated about WT was the caliber of professors in

the College of Business. They were also incredibly approachable. It is an advantage

of a smaller school that students can talk to their professors frequently. I also built a

strong group of friends at WT with whom I still stay in touch with and visit.

I now work as a reporter in Moscow, Russia for BloombergNews. I write about the Russian

economy for an international audience. I talk to smart economists and government officials

pretty much everyday, and thanks to my business degree, we can speak the same language

discussing Russia’s investment grade or sanctions’ impact on the economy.”

“It wasn’t until I found Maroon Productions (in mass communication) that I found my

passion,” Calvo said. “It wasn’t easy. Dr. (Leigh) Browning pushed me to do things I

wasn’t comfortable doing, like speaking to a camera in a foreign language. It was so

embarrassing for me, but now I do that for a living every night for the whole country to watch.

I can tell you without hesitation that the education I got at WT prepared me to perform as a

professional at a very young age and eager to continue in a never-ending learning process.
