A Year in ReviewAs we begin the new year, I wanted to share my appreciation and gratitude for your continued membership.

The year 2019 was transformational, as we brought two excellent Credit Unions together. The result was an even stronger Credit Union for the membership. The partnership brought many exciting outcomes, including the benefit of more convenient branch locations. Over 39,000 transactions occurred at Vibe Credit Union branches that were closer to members’ homes. We significantly reduced our costs by negotiating contracts as a larger organization, savings which we are now investing in our infrastructure and product offerings. We also added many new members to the Vibe family and extended new loans to even more.

I recognize that as we have combined operations, our members have experienced some changes. We promoted many staff members internally, resulting in training and development opportunities away from the branches. We also consolidated many member offerings, including Credit Cards and Online Banking programs. There are still changes to come, but my promise to you is that we are working to make the disruptions as minimal as possible.

Annual Meeting NoticeVibe Credit Union will have five seats on the Board of Directors up for re-election this year. The following members have been nominated to fill the seats: Marilyn Baker, David Cowles, James Fitzpatrick, Terry McKinley, and Stanley Moore. If a member believes they are qualified, has sufficient experience and can devote the time and effort necessary to this voluntary office, they may obtain a nominating petition by calling 248.735.9500. Petitions must be signed by 3% of verifiable Vibe members. All nominations must be filed with the President/CEO no later than Monday, March 8, 2020. The Annual Meeting will be held on April 22, 2020 at 44575 W. Twelve Mile Rd. Novi, MI 48377.

As part of our commitment to Caring for the Community, we will award a $1,500 scholarship to 10 deserving members. Our FU$E Scholarship Program is designed for members graduating high school and pursuing an education at a university, college, or technical school. The scholarship entry deadline is April 1, 2020. Account Fee UpdatesEach year we review our schedule of fees. We determine the fees by considering the costs associated with our product offerings in connection with the benefits received by the entire membership. After this annual review, we’d like to announce the following fee changes effective as of January 1, 2020:

1. Paper Statement Fee - The fee will now be $1.00 per month. This fee will be waived if you receive eStatements, are 17 and younger, or are 62 and older.

2. Consumer Coin Processing Fee - The 5% fee will now be assessed only after the first $100 (waived for youth members).

3. Low Balance Fee - This will be discontinued. It will be re-introduced and assessed based on your relationship with the Credit Union.
