IntroductionThis brochure gives details about the Art/Photography and German educational trip to Berlin. Please read through it careful and familiarize yourself with the itinerary.

TransportWe will be traveling by air with Air Berlin and you will be traveling around Berlin walking and using the tube and train network.

TeachersThere will be five teachers supervising the trip: Mr Hoeben (Trip Co-ordinator), Ms Powell, Ms Keay, Mr Woolley and Ms Merkel-Jordan.

MoneyIn Germany, the currency is the Euro and the current exchange rate is £1 to €1.27. You will need approximately £100 or €130 Euros for transport, lunch, snacks, entertainment and gallery entrances. All other costs are covered.

City Light HotelWe will be staying at the City Light Hotel in Mitte. You will be staying in dormitory-style accommodation in small groups. Please respect the hotel rules and avoid making noise at night and wandering around corridors.

Behaviour & ExpectationsIn the past, poor behaviour has not been a problem and we expect a mature attitude from sixth formers. The school policy for residential trips is that the school rules still apply and you are expected to behave responsibly. Please respect members of the public and be culturally sensitive. It is also very important that we remain together when walking through the city and do not separate from the group. In the event of a serious incident, please expect to have your parents contacted and a further punishment on return to school.

Flickr GroupWe encourage you to take photos whilst in Berlin and share them by sending them to our shared Flickr group, which can be accessed at: http://www.flickr.com/groups/fortismereberlintrip2006
