NEW QURAN HAFIZ AT KHIZRA MOSQUE

Another busy iftar in the community at Khizra Mosque this Ramadan with lots of guests visiting Khizra Mosque with many attending for the first time. This is our annual event where the Mosque opens its doors during the blessed month of Ramadan and many people visit the Mosque for the first time. This involves a tour of the Mosque, presentation on Ramadan and the community work carried out at the Centre and a full meal with an opportunity to network at the end. We would like to thank all of our guests this year who attended the unity iftar.

MASJID NEWS ACTIVITIES

Feed the homeless project and help the needy monthly food drop to homeless shelter, last weekend of the month.

Monthly health awareness sessions and health check and advice sessionsAFAK hifz, Quran, Arabic and other Quran studies for women only from Monday to Thursday.

Breakfast, activities & health check session for the homeless and destitute every last Saturday of the month 9am-10.30am (community hall).

We were so grateful to Many of our volunteers who were able to attend the annual volunteers dinner. This was mainly for those people who have helped in a regular basis during the year and throughout Ramadan. It was an excellent event and good opportunity to network and thank all those who do a wonderful job each year.

VOLUNTEER DINNER AT KHIZRA MOSQUE

Long life food items delivered to homeless at the Booth centre by Khizra Mosque volunteers recently again. Thank you to everyone for the donations and the drop off. Helping the homeless. Youth from Khizra Mosque also prepared packs with sleeping bags, thermal under garments, gloves, warm hats and socks which will be distrib-uted by the homeless project manchester on Sunday. Well done to all.

Alhamdulillah, Khizra Mosque is pleased to announce that another two of its students Mohammad Adwil khan and Zaib Ul Abideen from Hifz Class have completed the Hifz of the Quran in Ramadan and recited the final few verses to complete their hifz before the tarawih prayer in the blessed month of Ramadan. Shabeer was the third student this Ramadan to complete the hifz of the Quran at Khizra Mosque. This is an excellent achievement by this young student who have joined a list of other boys and girls who have completed Hifz of the Quran from Khizra Mosque Supplementary School. Congratulations to all these students, their parents, teachers especially Hafiz Mubarak for his hard work and all others involved. Well done on this great achievement.

Our youth and older supplementary school students visited Alton towers as an end of year trip this year. This was well enjoyed bu around 60 boys and girls who attended. Thank you to our youth volunteers and teachers for supervising the students.

Mixed martial arts

New classes for mixed martial arts starting at Khizra Mosque from the second July 2019 at 7pm-8pm for those aged 7-14 years and 8pm-9pm for those aged 15 years and over. Whether it’s to train to become a black belt, fight in tournaments, learn grappling or just keep fit turn please attend these sessions.

Lessons derived from the lives of the prophets. A new series at Khizra Mosque.

An excellent new series starting Saturday 22nd June 2019 on the lives of the prophets starting from Adam (AS) to Isa (AS). This will take place every Saturday after Maghrib prayer.

Other activities include archery classes for boys and girls. Inclusive sessions for those with special needs. Please see posters for details.

MONDAY

We had a busy EID at Khizra Mosque with thousands attend for Eid prayers at Khizra Mosque. We also had an entertainer who made balloons for children attending. This was well received and enjoyed by children who attended for the Eid prayer.

We had an Eid party at Khizra Mosque with a great turnout and attendance and excellent feedback. There was an opportunity to socialise and have a delicious meal at the Centre.

During Ramadan our volunteers dropped off food to a local homeless shelter and also provided good items to many needy families in the community. Thank you to everyone involved.
