LIGHT SHELVESan interconnection between the glass curtain walls on each floor is established in order to reduce the amount of heat gain in the spaces during the day while lighting the spaces simultaneously
ADDITIVE LIGHT SHELVESthe principle behind deciding to introduce light shelves into this space was done in order to not only provide shade and reduce heat gain within the circulation space; furthermore, it would counterpose the adjacent space across the corridor, a facade which is essentially etched and filled with perforated apertures.
light relects off light shelf and into space while still providing a sub-stantial amount of shading for the occupants of the space
DROPPED CEILINGSintroduced to lower the amount of audible sound in the adjacent spaces considering that this section of the building is reserved to offices and classrooms for faculty aaand students

LIGHT SHELVESThese polycarbonate panels adorn each !oor, whichallows light not only to shed into the spaces by re!ecting off the top of the panels, but into each of the classrooms and hallways. It not only reduces the amount of direct heat gain into the glass curtain wall, but also lights the spaces naturally.
STEEL DECK
GLASS WINDOWSThese allow captured lightfrom the light shelves to shed into the classrooms andhallways
CABLE SYSTEMThe cables connect to an aluminum pipe that runsalong each !oor and is bolted onto the vertical mullions. These interlock with each light shelf panel toensure that the light shelfpanels maintain structral integrity
