Our missionThe school’s mission is to identify and develop to the
full the natural talents and potential of each individual
pupil and to prepare them all for a full, happy and
productive life. The school seeks to achieve this within

Extra-curricular activities A wide range of activities are available to the girls
duringbreaktimes,beforeandafterschool.Girls
may start attending after-school clubs in Year 1,
with more choice available to them as they progress
through the school. Activities on offer include:
music theory, junior and senior choir, chamber
group, orchestra, recorder group, wind group, junior
andseniorfootball,netball,tennis,animation,ICT,
photography, drama, arts and crafts, cookery, design
and technology, philosophy and kung fu.
Educational visits and workshops Frequentclassvisitsaremadetomuseums,art
galleries, lectures, exhibitions and other places of
interestrelevanttothecurriculum.GirlsinYears5
and6aretakenonresidentialvisitsduringtheSpring
orSummerTerms.
Pupils benefit hugely from the wide range of
workshops offered throughout the year, relevant to
the topics they are studying. These include: dance,
music, drama, history and geography workshops,
maths puzzle days and history days.

Healthy eating Within school, girls are encouraged to eat a healthy,
well balanced diet. All food is freshly prepared in
our modern kitchen by our own in-house staff. The
menu includes traditional and modern dishes from
aroundtheworldandalldietsarecateredfor.Hot
and cold dishes are available daily, together with a
variety of salads, fresh fruit and vegetables.
Healthyandenergizingsnacks,includingmilkto
drink, are provided at break time and again after
school before extra-curricular clubs.
DuringtheirtimeinNursery,pupilsbringapacked
lunch into school. This allows their lunchtime to be
a relaxed and familiar routine as they settle into the
school environment.

classroomsby8.35am.Leavingtimesarestaggered
between 3pm and 3.30pm. After-school clubs and
homework sessions finish at 4.30pm. All pupils finish
by3.30pmeachFriday.

Uniform Thewearingofuniformisstrictlyenforced.InNursery
andReceptionthereisasimplifieduniform.Afull

Travel and sustainability TheschoolsupportstheCamdenSchoolsTravel
Plan initiative which encourages families to develop
environmentally friendly journeys to school. This
not only increases the fitness of our pupils but also
improvesthelocalenvironment.Girlsareencouraged,
where possible, to walk, scooter or cycle to school.
There is provision at school for bicycles, buggies and
scooters.Forthoselivingfurtherafieldcarsharing
and the use of public transport is encouraged. The
NorthernandJubileelinesareaccessiblefromBelsize
Park,ChalkFarmorSwissCottageunderground

AdmissionsSarumHall’smainintakeofpupilsisintoNurseryinthe
Septemberaftertheirthirdbirthday.Occasionalplaces
do occur higher up the school from time to time.
The admissions process begins upon registration; we
recommend you register your daughter at least two
years prior to entry. A registration form should be
completed and returned to the school with a non-
refundableregistrationfeeof£100.
After registration, parents are invited to visit the
school and have a personal meeting with the
Headmistress.Thesemeetingsoccurbetween
OctoberandMarch,twoyearsbeforeentry,and
include a tour of the school during the school day.
After this visit, prospective parents are asked to
write confirming their continued interest in a place
for their daughter.
Assessment Girlsenteringtheschoolattheageofthreearenot
assessed.FromYear1,girlsaretestedinmathematics
andEnglish.Reportsfrompreviousschoolsare
requested.
SiblingsTheschoolhasapolicyofacceptingsiblings.Older
siblings will be offered a place should a vacancy arise.
Offering of placesPlacesareofferedfifteenmonthsbeforeentry.Due
to a high level of demand, it is not possible to defer
places or acceptance. An enrolment deposit of one
term’sfullfeeispayableintwostages.£500isdue
on acceptance of the offer of a place and the balance
is due seven months before entry. The deposit is
refunded with the pupil’s final account.
