A lot of burns that fire-fighters suffer are due to the fact that they are not concerned that they are burning when they are in high-stress situations; the majority of collisions between cars and pedestrians happen because there is not a beam of incident light under low visibility conditions; the investment in protective garment is closely connected with the durability of the garment, and this with the washing cycles they are exposed; visual camouflage is not enough when devices such as thermal cameras are used… these are just some of the necessities of the Industry, Emergency, Defence and Health sectors.

These necessities and the determination to satisfy them shape the raison d’être of Infinitex (www.infinitex.es) and motivated ITURRI Group to lead the most ambitious commitment for the development of garment solutions on the basis the knowledge of new technologies related with the textile industry for professional garment.

ITURRI Group has led a consortium to address the challenge to evolve textile value chain through the interaction with different areas that has grown a lot during the last years, such as the materials or electronics. The results of the joint efforts of more than 200 people are 22 technologies developed with potential application for safety and professional garment including:

Soluciones innovadoras de vestuario Un gran número de quemaduras que sufren los bomberos se deben a que no son conscientes de que se queman en una situación de alto stress; la mayoría de los atropellos se producen por ausencia de un haz de luz incidente en condiciones de baja visibilidad; la inversión en vestuario de protección está íntimamente relacionada con la durabilidad de las prendas y ésta con los ciclos de lavado a que son expuestos; el camuflaje visual es insuficiente cuando se usan dispositivos de detección como cámaras térmicas… son sólo algunas de las necesidades de colectivos de defensa, industria, sanidad o emergencias.

Dichas necesidades y la determinación por satisfacerlas conforman la razón de ser de Infinitex (www.infinitex.es) y motivaron que el Grupo ITURRI liderara la apuesta más ambiciosa por el desarrollo de soluciones de vestuario a partir del conocimiento de nuevas tecnologías relacionadas con la industria textil y de confección para el vestuario profesional.

El Grupo ITURRI ha liderado un consorcio para abordar el reto de dar un salto en la cadena de valor textil mediante la interacción con otras áreas que habían avanzado mucho en los últimos años, como los materiales o la electrónica. El resultado del trabajo conjunto de más de 200 personas son 22 tecnologías desarrolladas con potencial aplicación en el vestuario profesional y de seguridad, entre las que se encuentran:

- Solutions capable of increasing the physiological and ergonomic comfort of the user.

- Solutions that enhance the durability of the garment.

- Solutions to increase the garment protection level: higher visibility, better flame retardant behaviour, thermal signature reduction.

- Solutions to control and monitor the response of the worker when working under different risk situations.

- Solutions to reduce the cost associated with the protection and equipment of the workers.

Until 2013, the development of the solutions has focused our attention and we have obtained very positive results: TORCH, ELASTIS, WARMENT, BREATHTEX, SOLARIS, HEXAGON, 3XPRO, etc...This is arrival of a new generation of safety professional garment.

At ITURRI Group we would like to thank the enthusiasm and hardworking of all these people which has made Infinitex possible. Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge and recognize to all these companies and groups for their contribution to the project. We are deeply grateful to have developed solutions that allow them to improve their professional day by day.

The project doesn’t finish here. Now is the time to implement the solutions in those who suffer these risks. Only when we could reduce the number of accidents and increase the security of the workers, we will have achieved Infinitex objectives.

Hasta 2013, el desarrollo de estas soluciones ha concentrado nuestra atención habiendo obtenido resultados muy positivos: TORCH, ELASTIS, WARMENT, BREATHTEX, SOLARIS, HEXAGON, 3XPRO, etc... Es la llegada de una nueva generación de vestuario profesional de seguridad.

Desde el Grupo ITURRI queremos agradecer el entusiasmo y trabajo duro de todas las personas que han hecho posible Infinitex. Igualmente queremos expresar nuestra gratitud y reconocimiento a todas esas empresas y colectivos por su aportación al proyecto. Nos alegra profundamente haber podido desarrollar soluciones que les permita mejorar su día a día profesional.

El proyecto no acaba aquí. Ahora toca llevar estas soluciones a aquellos colectivos que sufren estos riesgos en su actividad diaria. Solamente cuando logremos reducir el número de accidentes y aumentar la seguridad de los trabajadores, habremos conseguido los objetivos de Infinitex.

In June of this year, the new ITURRI Group platform was launched with the aim of expanding both storage and distribution capacity. This shall ultimately give way to an improved customer service and offer a facility that will, without a doubt, contribute greatly to the growth of the company, both in Poland and other countries of the area.

The new warehouse can be found in Tychy, around 37 kilometres from the ITURRI Group´s main offices in this country. The city comprises one of the largest industrial hubs of Poland, allowing for greater proximity to the establishments of our company´s main customers.

In comparison to the previous headquarters in Bielsko-Biata, the new ITURRI Group facility in Poland doubles warehouse capacity. With a surface area of 3,832 metres squared, there is sufficient space for six thousand positions: 4,500 for pallets and 1,500 for small goods. This innovative re-arrangement of products has meant that picking times have been optimized and an improvement in productivity can be guaranteed. It cuts storage costs and enhances customer service. Products are grouped by rotation criterion and their location and the stock are registered on the warehouse management system.

El pasado mes de julio se inauguró la nueva plataforma del Grupo ITURRI en Polonia con el objetivo de ampliar la capacidad de almacenaje y distribución. Esto permitirá mejorar el servicio a los clientes y disponer de una instalación que sin duda contribuirá al crecimiento de la empresa tanto en Polonia como en otros países de la zona.

El nuevo almacén se encuentra en Tychy, a unos 37 kilómetros de la central del Grupo ITURRI en ese país. Se trata de uno de los enclaves con mayor actividad industrial de Polonia, y eso permitirá una mayor cercanía a las instalaciones de los principales clientes de la empresa.

Comparada con la sede anterior de Bielsko-Biała, la nueva instalación en Polonia del Grupo ITURRI duplica la capacidad de almacenaje. Cuenta con una superficie de 3.832 metros cuadrados y espacio suficiente para seis mil posiciones: 4.500 de pallet y otras 1.500 de pequeño material. La nueva reorganización de los productos permite optimizar los tiempos de picking y garantiza una mejora en la productividad. Reduce los costes de almacenamiento y mejora el servicio a los clientes. The facilities are both heated and air-conditioned and are equipped with five loading and unloading docks. The environmental conditions are considered ideal for the fifteen members of staff that daily take charge of the company´s logistical activities. They also feature new fork hoists as well as new trucks for direct delivery.

This new platform, the largest warehouse facility that the ITURRI Group possesses outside of Spain, shall certainly provide essential help in the advancement of logistical processes and it shall add a differentiating factor to the company´s offer in the quality service.

Esta nueva plataforma, la mayor instalación de almacenamiento que el Grupo ITURRI tiene fuera de España, será sin duda una ayuda indispensable para mejorar los procesos logísticos y sumará a la oferta de la empresa un punto diferenciador en calidad de servicio.

TORCH, the high visibility work wear solution developed by the ITURRI Group, has been chosen as one of the most innovative designs at the A+A Safety Trade Fair and has been

presented at their Innovation Park.

What is TORCH?

At the start of 2010, the ITURRI Group set to work on

researching electroluminescent fabrics as one of the

INFINITEX (RESEARCH AND INTELLIGENCE OF NEW FEATURES

IMPLEMENTED IN TEXTILES) project´s main leads. For over

three years it was investigated alongside various companies

and technological centres, in order to find a solution to

improve workers´ visibility that would result in a greater level

of safety in the long run.

There are a large number of

occasions in which work must be

carried out with low visibility (at

night or in closed spaces). High

visibility work wear that employs

reflective elements is therefore

indispensable, yet these garments

are only detectable when incoming

light is directed at them.

TORCH offers a solution through

the integration of employees´

work wear with electroluminescent

technology that turns the garment

itself into a source of light. In this

way, the individual´s visual warning

is detected a lot sooner and safety levels are enhanced.

This original design comprises an active safety solution across

a large scope. Not only is it waterproof and highly durable, it

offers extreme comfort thanks to its great flexibility that can

be freely arranged in the shape of flags, logos or garment

specific designs.

TORCH, la solución de alta visibilidad en vestuario desarrollada por el

Grupo ITURRI, ha sido seleccionada como una de las más innovadoras

de la Feria de Seguridad A+A y ha sido expuesta en su Innovation Park.

¿Qué es TORCH?

A comienzos de 2010 el Grupo ITURRI comenzó la investigación en tejidos

electroluminiscentes como una de las principales líneas del proyecto

INFINITEX (Investigación de Nuevas Funcionalidades e Inteligencia

Implementadas en los Textiles). Durante más de 3 años se ha investigado,

junto a diferentes empresas y centros tecnológicos, para desarrollar

una solución que permita aumentar la seguridad de los trabajadores

mejorando su visibilidad.

Son muchas las ocasiones en que es

necesario realizar trabajos en entornos

de baja visibilidad (durante la noche o

en espacios cerrados). Por eso se necesita

disponer de vestuario de alta visibilidad a

base de reflectantes, pero estos elementos

solamente son visibles cuando existe una

luz incidente sobre ellos.

TORCH es una solución que integra la

tecnología electroluminsicente en el

propio vestuario del trabajador haciendo

E-ITURRI Campus, an ever-evolving training platform

At the start of this year, Human Resources set a very

significant goal: to boost the value of learning and

continuous improvement to guarantee customer satisfaction

and reinforce efficiency.

What has been done so far?

So far, more than 23,000 hours of training have been

provided, which is equivalent to an average of 3 days per

person.

Is this a lot or little?

All though these figures are very close to the EU average,

the Human Resources team are convinced that this must be

turned into a factor that distinguishes the ITURRI Group in

the market. They hope to double this figure for 2014.

Is training just the company´s responsibility?

As individuals, do we not hold responsibility to strive

to be the best and most efficient professionals?

In consideration of the answer to these questions, the

ITURRI Group wishes to share a message of motivation and

to promote self-training. One of the tools available for self-

management of knowledge is the E-ITURRI Campus, a training

platform featuring dynamic content that is ever-evolving.

que equivale a una media de 3 días por persona.

Aunque estas cifras están muy cercanas al promedio de la UE, el

equipo de Recursos Humanos está convencido de que éste debe ser

uno de los factores que más diferencie al Grupo ITURRI en el mercado.

From the autonomous community of Extremadura, the

Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant supplies 16,000 million kWh per

year to the whole of Spain.

The Plant features two light water reactors at a pressure of

2,947 thermal MW, each one of which with three refrigeration

circuits. It is noteworthy that the Spanish contribution

of these reactors, with regard to their manufacture and

construction, is higher than 80%. Both units run on slightly

enriched uranium oxide and their electrical power is 1,049.43

MWe and 1,044.45 MWe respectively. 53% of the Almaraz

Nuclear Power Plant is owned by Iberdrola, 36% by Endesa

and 11% by Gas Natural Fenosa.

manguera de 6”.

The Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant´s mission is to generate

electricity in a safe, reliable, economic manner that, above

all, respects the environment and guarantees said production

in the long term via the optimum exploitation of its facilities.

In this way it contributes to raising the quality of life and

social well-being.

The Plant in question can be found in Almaraz de Tajo

(Cáceres), whose land is stretched over 1,683 hectares located

in the municipalities of Almaraz, Saucedilla, Serrejón and

Romangordo. After extensive and detailed studies were

performed on the topography of the site, the results confirmed

the chosen place´s suitability thanks to its seismotectonic,

geological, hydrological and climatic characteristics.

This June, La Rabida CEPSA HUELVA Refinery undertook unit maintenance work and measures for improvement in the turnaround of their Unifining and Light Naphtha plants.

The ITURRI Group participated in said turnover with a team made up of 7 advanced technicians of Occupational Risk Prevention for training activities and supervision of temporary staff safety.

The activities which stood out were:

- Day and night surveillance shifts of the safety in hot works that were especially complicated or in closed spaces.

- Support in the coordination of over-lapping or coinciding tasks, such as jobs on the same vertical, heavy machinery operations, traffic regulation during dangerous operations, etc.

- Guidance for recruitment agencies during high risk operations

- Recording of conditions in confined spaces.

A renting service was also provided alongside these activities, for semi self-contained breathing apparatus as support resources.

Once again CEPSA has put its trust in the ITURRI Group as experts in safety in the petrochemical industry, and in this case, in their turnaround support service.

En el pasado mes de junio la Refinería de La Rábida de CEPSA HUELVA realizó labores de mantenimiento de unidades y mejora de procesos en la parada de sus plantas de Unifining y RNL (Refinado Naftas Ligeras).

El Grupo ITURRI colaboró en dicha parada con un equipo formado por 7 técnicos superiores en PRL (Prevención de Riesgos Laborales) para actividades de formación y supervisión de la seguridad del personal de contratas.

Algunas de las actividades destacables fueron:

- Vigilancia en turnos de día y noche de la seguridad en trabajos en caliente de especial complejidad y espacios confinados

- Apoyo en la coordinación de trabajos superpuestos y/o simultáneos tales como trabajos en la misma vertical, maniobras con maquinaria pesada, regulación del tráfico durante maniobras peligrosas, etc.

- Asesoramiento a las empresas de contratas durante las maniobras de alto riesgo

- Toma de condiciones en espacios confinados

En paralelo con este trabajo se realizó el servicio de renting de prestación de unidades semiautónomas de aire respirable como apoyo en trabajos. De nuevo CEPSA deposita la confianza en el Grupo ITURRI, como expertos en seguridad en el sector petroquímico, en este caso en su línea de servicio de apoyo en paradas.

ARTLANT is the sole company in Portugal that produces PTA,

a substance used a raw material in the production of PET

(Polyethylene terephthalate) – used primarily in the manufacture

of packaging for the food sector (bottles for water, soft drinks

and other drinks) and the production of polyester, used in the

textile industry. The firm manufactures 700,000 tonnes on a

yearly basis.

The training of emergency response teams is amongst the

countless methods created to fight risks in the production of

PTA. Said teams work on a shift basis and are equipped with,

not only elements from the Safety area (2 per shift), but also

with elements from the Operations area.

ARTLANT became aware of the need to organise training

activities through an external company with experience in

the emergency field, and, more specifically, in the firefighting

sector. Their aim was to standardise knowledge on all elements

and their raise awareness through intense training.

It was the ITURRI Group that took on the challenge, a company

with which a business relationship was already established

dating back to the project phase (then the supplier of hydrants

and accessories such as monitors, hoses and nozzles). 3 days

of activities were planned and taught in total of four editions

which took place over four consecutive weeks.

The programme was designed to be adapted as much as possible

to real life situations encountered at the ARTLANT facilities,

taking the knowledge of their existing material into account, as

well as their use in practice. The level of difficulty was increased

throughout the course, which concluded with practical activities

at two standards or a final drill exercise of combined responses,

with hoses, foam and breathing apparatus or ARICAs.

Despite the intensity of the activity, the participants offered

quite positive feedback on the training and they praised the

trainers´ professional attitudes.

Cursos de formación para los trabajadores de la empresa portuguesa ARTLANTARTLANT es la única empresa en Portugal productora de PTA, una sustancia utilizada como materia prima en la producción de PET (politereftalato de etileno) – material usado en el fabricación de embalajes para el sector alimentario (botellas de agua, refrescos y otras bebidas) y la producción de poliéster, utilizadas en el sector textil. Fabrica 700.000 toneladas al año.

Entre las innumerables medidas creadas para combatir el riesgo de la fabricación de PTA está la formación de equipos de respuesta a la emergencia que funcionan por turnos y que cuentan, no solamente con elementos del área de Seguridad (2 por turno), sino también con elementos del área de Operaciones.

ARTLANT entendió que era necesario organizar acciones de formación por parte de una empresa externa con experiencia en el sector de emergencias y, más en particular en la lucha contra incendios, con el objetivo de estandarizar lo máximo posible el nivel de conocimientos de todos los elementos, y dotarlos de una formación intensiva.

La adjudicación recayó en el Grupo ITURRI, empresa con la que ya existía una relación comercial desde la fase de proyecto (suministradora ya de los hidrantes y accesorios como monitores, mangueras o boquillas). Se han organizado acciones con tres días de duración, en un total de cuatro ediciones, que han tenido lugar durante cuatro semanas consecutivas.

El programa fue diseñado para adaptarlo lo más posible a la realidad de ARTLANT, teniendo en cuenta el conocimiento del material existente en las instalaciones y su utilización en prácticas. El grado de dificultad ha ido aumentando a lo largo del curso y ha finalizado con prácticas a dos niveles, o un ejercicio final de simulación de intervención combinada, con mangueras, espuma y aparatos respiratorios o ARICA’S.

A pesar de la dura actividad, al final los participantes hicieron una evaluación bastante positiva de la formación y elogiaron la

profesionalidad de los formadores.

Last September, the ITURRI Group in Poland renewed one of

the most prestigious tenders in the Polish aviation industry

market, and signed a 3-year contract to supply protection

equipment, footwear and other personal safety garments

(PPE). The customer opted for the ITURRI Group´s offer as

it was the most comprehensive option and offered the best

services of those presented. In addition to the provision of

PPE, the offer includes an online ordering service and locker

storage accompanied by 5 PPE vending machines, introducing

a new standard of service quality and advances in the PPE

sales field.

The company Polskie Zaklady Lotnicze Sp z.o.o. – PZL Mielec,

subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, is the largest

manufacturer of aircrafts in Poland. It currently constructs

Black Hawk helicopter cockpits for international clients and

the United States Army. Their Polish plant employs 2,100

workers, the main shareholder of PZL Mielec – Sikorsky

Aircraft employees 17,000 employees and is at the same time

an affiliate of United Technologies Corp. (UTC).

(EPI). El cliente eligió la oferta por ser la opción más completa y con

mejores servicios de las presentadas. La oferta incluye además del

suministro de EPI, la plataforma de pedidos online, almacén en consigna,

complementado con 5 máquinas expendedoras de EPI, que introduce

un nuevo estándar de calidad de servicio y el avance tecnológico en el

La empresa Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze Sp. z o.o. - PZL Mielec, subsidiaria

de Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, es el mayor fabricante de aeronaves

de Polonia. En la actualidad, produce la cabina de los helicópteros Black

Hawk para los clientes internacionales y el Ejército de EE.UU. La planta

After being welcomed into the Mercedes-Benz factory in Vitoria and with the renewal of the PPE contract, the ITURRI Group have been selected as the global Personal Protective Equipment supplier for the commercial network of dealers belonging to this automobile company.

In light of the new contract which came into effect the 4th of November this year, The ITURRI Group has plans to expand this family of products across the Spanish commercial network of Mercedes-Benz dealers and garages.

In addition to providing technical support and a continuous improvement programme under this new contract, and taking the logistical complexity of the numerous delivery points and the elevated amount of participating representative, the customer shall be offered key solutions in managing this project:

vez renovado el contrato de EPI, el Grupo ITURRI ha sido seleccionado

como proveedor global de Equipos de Protección Individual para la red

comercial de concesionarios de esta empresa automovilística.

El nuevo contrato comenzó el pasado 4 de noviembre. El Grupo ITURRI

tiene en proyecto la expansión de esta familia de productos a toda la red

comercial de concesionarios y talleres Mercedes Benz en España.

Además del apoyo técnico y plan de mejora continua con este nuevo

contrato, y debido a la complejidad de la logística por los numerosos

puntos de entrega y al gran número de interlocutores, se ofrecen al

Subsequent to the delivery of the box van for PROTEC-FIRE (ITURRI’s vehicle manufacturer) at the start of the year, the SEAT emergency services appointed the ITURRI Group with the supply of their first response work wear, station wear and personal protective equipment for a staff team of 45 people across 3 plants, under the responsibility of Acciona Facility Services.

Included are Munchen model footwear manufactured with GORE-TEX ® fabric, PACIFIC safety helmets, Texport first response work wear and SCOTT self-contained breathing apparatus.

Last but not least, the station wear has been selected from the Cotex collection thanks to its high availability of all sizes and models.

Se trata del calzado modelo Munchen con tejido de GORE-TEX®, cascos

PACIFIC, vestuario de primera intervención de Texport y los equipos de

respiración autónoma de SCOTT.

Finalmente la ropa de parque es de la colección Cotex, donde la alta

disponibilidad en tallas y modelos ha sido clave para su adjudicación.

TSK, a leading business group in engineering developments

and the supply of high-quality facilities, is a firm which

generates a business figure higher than 450 million euros,

with more than 750 professionals and its feet in more than

35 countries over the world.

The ITURRI Group, enlisted with the trust of the TSK Group’s

environmental department, is to install a fire safety system

in the Reverse Osmosis Plant of the Ministro Hales mine

exploitation project for their client CODELCO, in Chile. This

plant shall carry out the treatment of make-up water to

supply the toasting process using reverse osmosis, with a

The unloading of the crude oil for the CEPSA Huelva refinery

is carried out via a single buoy mooring located 10 miles

offshore, anchored to the sea bed with eight enormous

catenary chains.

It is the ITURRI Group who is responsible for the production

and supply of the chafe chain replacement accessories for

this single point mooring. The project covers the sections of

chains formed by several main branches in section nº1 and

section nº6, as well as two secondary branches with each

main section.

The supply also entails section connection elements, as well as

loading techniques and manufacture requirements in grade

R4 steel, in accordance with Lloyd’s Register of Shipping Rules

and Regulations for the Classification of Ships.

Protecting Endesa for three further years with our safety helmets

Endesa has once again appointed the ITURRI Group as

their safety equipment suppliers for safety helmets.

The new contract shall have the same duration as the

previous one, being valid for a duration of 3 years. All

of Endesa’s companies shall be provided with helmets

for protection in all possible types of risk situations:

visitor helmets, those for daily use with no special

risk, and electrical safety helmets. Earmuffs (Hearing

protection) and safety glasses are also included in the

contract.

The Polish company PERN, specialising in distribution and

warehousing of crude oil, ran a series of talks dedicated

to fighting fire in storage tanks on the 19th and 20th of

September. Representatives came from the majority of the

country’s fire brigades, as well as those belonging to the

chemical and petrochemical industry, in order to attend the

event held in PERN’s very own facilities at their plant found

in Plock (Poland).

PERN arranges a conference of this type every 2 to 3 years

demonstrating their convention power, which aims to

introduce Polish firefighters to the technologies and services

currently available on the market allowing them to get the

most out of their work at this guild.

The ITURRI Group attended the conference as a guest,

presenting their latest generation pumps for emitting huge

water flows. This equipment is used both in fire-fighting in

this type of plant, as well as for pumping out huge amounts of

water in cases of flooding counties that regularly experience

these situations.

PERN organiza una conferencia de este tipo cada 2 o 3 años y su poder

de convocatoria está demostrado. Su objetivo es mostrar al colectivo

de bomberos polacos las últimas tecnologías y servicios disponibles en

el mercado que permitan optimizar el trabajo a este gremio.

El Grupo ITURRI, presente en las jornadas como invitado, presentó

bombas de última generación para trasvase de grandes caudales de

agua, usadas tanto para la lucha contra incendios en este tipo de

Fire safety system in Spain’s largest pizza plantCAMPOFRIO GROUP has selected the ITURRI Group to take charge of the supply and assembly of a fire safety system for the largest pizza manufacturing plant in Spain, found in Olvega, Soria.

The facility, featuring a water storage system via a pump room and a water reserve tank, shall be equipped with an alarm and detection system formed by fire sensor instruments such as optical smoke detectors, linear reflecting beam smoke detectors, interior alarm buttons, control units, interior units and cable connection and installation of breathing apparatus.

The extinguishing equipment shall comprise extinguishers and general signs throughout the plant, manifolds and several control points in the flour, oil, solid ingredients, waste and ancillary material warehouses as well as in the refrigerated goods dispatch, frozen goods dispatch, battery charging, topping/cooling, packaging, boxing, laminating and cooking.

Esta instalación constará de un sistema de abastecimiento de agua a través de la sala de bombas y un depósito de reserva de agua. El sistema de detección y alarma estará compuesto por una central de incendios de detectores ópticos de humos, detector lineal de humo por reflexión, pulsadores interiores, sirenas, módulo de control, módulos interiores, cable e instalación de los sistemas de respiración.

El sistema de extinción estará compuesto por extintores y señalización general de la planta, colector de distribución, varios puestos de control en almacén de harinas, aceites, ingredientes sólidos, basura, materias auxiliares, expedición de refrigerado, expedición de congelado, carga de baterías, decoración/enfriamiento, envasado, encajado, laminado y cocción.

The Barcelona City Council has become the country´s pioneer with their latest proposal to ensure that their group’s uniforms are regulated in line with the International Work and Environmental Criterion Organisation’s (OIT) regulations.

In order to achieve this, those companies participating in the tenders have been recommended to present or certify their compliance with the parameters in question. In the latest tenders this once suggestion has become a mandatory requisite. The ITURRI Group, under BUREAU VERITAS’ supervision, was awarded with the SA8000 certification warranting that their management and production models fulfil the corporate social responsibility and the OIT policy.

The ITURRI Group, due to the relevance of their garments to the technical proposal and their compliance with the technical-administrative terms and conditions, was designated the winter and summer 2013/2014 work wear supplier for PARCS I JARDINS. This customer currently relies on ITURRI for their PPE and work wear services, tenders that were both appointed this year.

El Ayuntamiento de Barcelona es pionero en nuestro país en proponer que la ropa de sus colectivos esté regulada respetando las normas de la Organización Internacional del Trabajo y criterios medioambientales (OIT).

Para ello, desde el año 2004 ha recomendado que las empresas participantes en las licitaciones presenten o certifiquen que cumplan con estas premisas. En los últimos concursos esta recomendación ha pasado a ser de obligado cumplimiento. El Grupo ITURRI, con la supervisión de BUREAU VERITAS obtuvo la certificación SA8000, que garantiza que los modelos de gestión y producción cumplen con la responsabilidad social corporativa y con las normas de la OIT.

Con la propuesta técnica pertinente en sus prendas y el cumplimiento del pliego técnico-administrativo, el Grupo ITURRI fue adjudicado del suministro de vestuario de invierno y verano para 2013/2014 para PARCS I JARDINS. Este cliente en la actualidad recibe también servicio de los EPI y vestuario, licitaciones ambas adjudicadas durante el presente año.

Barcelona City Council’s Parks and Gardens work wear is adapted to the OIT environmental regulations

EnBW, one of the biggest utilities companies in Germany

signed a 4 years contract with ITURRI Group to produce and

deliver technical waterproof garments.

EnBW is located in the south west of Germany and has more

than 20.000 employees. About 5.4 million customers make

EnBW the third-largest utilities company in Germany.

With this contract ITURRI GROUP gives a new impulse to its

international strategy and focusing markets and costumers

with the highest awareness for safety.

EnBW is collaborating with ITURRI Group since more than

7 years, but it is the first time that they reached to sign a

contract for technical garments. There will be 11 models of

waterproof garments to manufacture, 7 of them with a high

safety performance and as certifications against the risk of

electric arcs.

EnBW selected ITURRI Group not only because of their

performance offering their range of current garments than

also because they are leader for safety solutions in the

European utilities markets.

After signing the contract end of July, a core team of EnBW

visited ITURRI Group in its headquarter in Seville.

Also the manufacturing plant in Morocco, the development

and logistics center of the garment division in Mairena del

Alcor and the plant of vehicles (PROTEC-FIRE) in Utrera.

EnBW, una de las mayores empresas de Alemania de abastecimiento de herramientas, ha firmado un contrato de 4 años con el Grupo ITURRI para producir y suministrar vestuario técnico impermeable.

EnBW está situada en el suroeste de Alemania y cuenta con más de 20.000 trabajadores. Sus 5,4 millones de clientes posicionan a EnBW como la tercera empresa más importante del Sector en Alemania.

El contrato con el Grupo ITURRI le permitirá dar un impulso a su estrategia internacional así como centrarse en los mercados y clientes que cuentan con alto grado de implicación en materia de seguridad. EnBW y el Grupo ITURRI colaboran desde hace más de 7 años, sin embargo ésta es la primera vez que firman un contrato en relación a indumentaria técnica. Habrá pues 11 modelos de prendas impermeables para fabricar, 7 de las cuales cuentan con un alto nivel de seguridad y con certificaciones contra los riesgos de arcos eléctricos.

The ITURRI Group and Respol Quimica proceed with their fire safety collaboration

After almost 10 years of handling the maintenance of their

fixed fire protection systems, Repsol have, once again,

expanded their business relations with the ITURRI Group,

requesting they continue with the safety task.

In virtue of the two year contract, both preventative and

corrective maintenance work shall be carried out on the

fire protection systems found Repsol Quimica plants and

buildings in Tarragona, in accordance with RD 1942/1993.

Included within the scope of the contract are detection and

alarm systems plus automatic extinguishing and foam-water

systems throughout the whole complex, in addition to the

plants’ water and foam systems that are currently underway.

ITURRI has the qualified technical personnel available in Tarragona

to complete the contracted service (mechanical, electrical or

instrumentation)

CEPSA has elected the ITURRI Group to design, supply, assemble and authorise a fixed fire safety system for foam extinction in the PTEL dam area (Waste water treatment) belonging to the La Rabida Huelva Refinery.

This area is designated for holding hydrocarbons in the PTEL dams and its main risk entails the possibility of a fire breaking out at any moment from an accumulation of hydrocarbon spills.

A fire-fighting system has been designed taking several scenarios into account:

- Sandy trenches: containing hydrocarbons in the dam area: Category 1B, AFFF Foam agent was incorporated into the design with the application of a medium expansion foam.

- Oil separator: containing hydrocarbons in the dam area: Category 1B, AFFF Foam agent was incorporated into the design with the application of a medium expansion foam.

- Holding dams: containing hydrocarbons on what the following design criterion has been established, due to the large surface areas which should be covered with foam systems:1. The application of a medium expansion foam around the

dam’s perimeter is taken into account2. The application of foam in the middle of the dam

with hydrants-monitor, with an application time and generation of a foam layer suitable for extinction.

The various supply and assembly tasks are currently underway and the facility will be operative before the end of 2013.

CEPSA Huelva refinery to have fire safety systems in their holding dams

La refinería de CEPSA Huelva tendrá un sistema contra incendios en las balsas de residuos

CEPSA ha contado con el Grupo ITURRI para el diseño, suministro,

montaje y legalización del sistema contra incendio fijo de extinción con

espuma en la zona de balsas de PTEL (Tratamiento de aguas residuales)

de Refinería La Rábida, Huelva.

Esta zona está definida para la retención de hidrocarburos en las balsas

de PTEL. El riesgo deriva de la acumulación de manchas de hidrocarburos,

la posibilidad de que se cree en algún momento un incendio en las

diversas manchas de las balsas.

Se ha diseñado un sistema de lucha contra incendios con varios

escenarios:

- Foso arenoso: con contenido hidrocarburos en la zona de balsas: se

realiza un diseño con espumógeno AFFF, categoría 1B y aplicando una

espuma de media expansión.

- Separador de aceite: con contenido hidrocarburos en la zona de balsas:

un diseño de espumógeno AFFF, categoría 1B y aplicando una espuma

de media expansión.

- Balsas de acumulación: con contenido en hidrocarburos en lo que se

han establecido los siguientes criterios de diseño debido a las grandes

superficies que se deben cubrir con sistemas de espuma;

1- se tiene en cuenta la aplicación de espuma de media expansión en el

perímetro de la balsa.

2- la aplicación de espuma en el centro de la balsa con hidrantes –

monitor, con un tiempo de aplicación y una generación de colchón

apropiados para la extinción.

Actualmente se están llevando a cabo los distintos trabajos de suministro

y montaje. La instalación estará operativa antes que finalice el año 2013.

Operating primarily in Poland, it also maintains smelting and refining activities that turn its mined copper into cathodes, wire rod, and round copper billets. London Gatwick Airport Fire Service is the first British airport

operator to acquire specialist rescue stairs to enable the mass

evacuation of passengers from aircrafts. The rescue stairs, based on

a Mercedes Benz Actros 3351 6x6 chassis, have an adjustable height

up to 8,5 meters and a wide platform allowing a quick evacuation of

any aircraft, i.e. 500 passengers of an Airbus 380 in 2-3 minutes. Two

similar rescue stairs have been recently delivered to Dubai Airports.

plataforma de gran capacidad que permite la rápida evacuación de cualquier aeronave,

hasta los más de 500 pasajeros de un Airbus 380 en 2-3 minutos. Dos escaleras de rescate

The 4 year contact recently announced by the British MoD,

DE&S is for the supply of ITURRI Fire Fighting jacket, trousers,

boots, gloves and hoods to meet the demanding needs of

the British Royal Navy. Manufacturing of these products will

start immediately.

The MoDs decision was the result of a challenging competitive

tender action which saw several companies submitting

products for testing and trial in a competitive process. ITURRI

is delighted that it was selected after a rigorous procurement.

After a public tender ITURRI has been awarded with the

contract to supply 1 Aircraft Refueler, with 10.000 Lts for JP8

Fuel, according with ADR2011.

This vehicle has been delivered last October. The training

perfomed in the Military Air Base of Tancos, place where the

Quick Response Unit of the Portuguese Land Army has its

headquarters.

After the delivery of severall Ground Support Equipments

(G.S.E.), fire trucks, and 11 refuelers to the Portuguese Air

Force, ITURRI wins another costumer in this equipments and

confirm its position of main contractor of this type of units in

the Portuguese Military Market.

La decisión del Ministerio de Defensa británico es el resultado de la

obtención de un concurso de licitación en la que participaron varias

empresas presentando sus productos para la evaluación y ensayos

en un proceso de gran competitividad. El Grupo ITURRI está muy

satisfecho con esta adjudicación tras un proceso tan riguroso.

Unidad repostadora para aeronaves del Ejército deTierra Portugués

Tras una licitación pública, ITURRI obtuvo un contrato de suministro

de una unidad repostadora para aeronaves, con una capacidad de

10.000 litros para combustible JP8 de conformidad con ADR2011.

Este vehículo se entregó el pasado octubre. La formación se llevó a

cabo en la Base Aérea Militar de Tancos, donde la Unidad de Respuesta

de Emergencia del ejército de Tierra Portugués tiene su sede central.

Con la entrega de Equipos de Apoyo en Pista (G.S.E.), camiones de

bomberos, y 11 reportadoras a las Fuerzas Aéreas Portuguesas, ITURRI

consiguió otro cliente en este sector de equipos y confirma así su

posición como principal proveedor de este tipo de unidades en el

Mercado Militar Portugués.

A fire which broke out in La Rochelle’s city hall on the 28th

June 2013 set the whole building alight and despite firemen’s

best efforts in fighting the flames, a section that dated back to

the 15th C. was destroyed.

The Mayor of La Rochelle, Maxime Bono, explained that

regardless of the huge scale of the fire, a large number of

historical works and monuments were saved from the blazing

building, which houses, amongst several exclusive pieces,

numerous works of art, Henry IV’s death mask, and the city’s

first stamp.

This year, Chambery was the lucky host of the 120th edition

of the French National Fire fighter Congress from the 10th to

12th of October, an event which takes place annually in a

different French city for the main players in the fire-fighting

industry.

The ITURRI Group contributed with a 440 metre squared

outdoor stand that modelled, amongst other product ranges,

three vehicles belonging to the SDIS 07, 63 and 49.

The ITURRI Group had the chance of cooperating in the

third Fire Safety Technology Forum UAE (Dubai). The aim

of this leading annual event is to allow users and top-class

professionals to share the latest advancements in terms of

fire fighter emergency and safety, civil protection and other

safety and rescue bodies.

The latest developments of the ITURRI Group in their response

work wear for fire fighters were presented, such as the 3XPro

set belonging to the INFINITEX Project.

Collaborating in events such as this enables the ITURRI Group

to further pursue the expansion of their commercial activity

in the Middle East and widen the distribution scope of our

solutions.

El Grupo ITURRI participó en el tercer Fórum Tecnológico Anual de Protección Contra Incendios de Dubai (EAU). Said feast commemorates a passage found both in the Bible as well as the Koran, which retells Abraham’s (Ibrahim) desire to sacrifice his son in submission to God’s request. Yet before Abraham could go ahead with the act, God offered him a lamb to slaughter in place of his son.

The ITURRI Group have entered teams into the 20th International Inter-company 7-a-side Football League 2013-2014.

The tournament is being held in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Milan, Rome, Lisbon and Oporto. Each team shall play a minimum of 10 games consisting of one game per week in the registered city.

So far, the first round of games have been played, and at this moment in time, we have qualified for the upcoming matches.
